The Association's Most Popular Hits, plus a few more...
I bought this "album" when it was first released in 1968 (at age 13), and recently purchased it again on cd. This compilation contains their best-known hits, plus a few other tracks that the casual Association fan may not have heard before. If you are the type of person who is only interested in hearing familiar songs, without exploring any deeper cuts, this probably is the cd for you. None of the songs are disappointing, and they give a good over-view of what The Association was capable of doing. However, it is a very "safe" collection of music, nothing being included but the absolutely most commercially successful songs. That being said, it is still worth the few dollars charged for it, in order to own some of the greatest music ever released by one band. If you want to dig deeper into The Association's music after hearing this cd without buying all of their old releases separately, I would then purchase Just The Right Sound-The Association Anthology. Whatever Association...

A classic, but needs an update
Contains all their big hits, but none of their later material. It was a straight re-issue of the 1968 LP, which was pretty much the norm in the early days of CD's. But this excellent set is long over due for an update, including remastering. Add another 5 or 6 songs from their later albums and it would be an easy 5 star CD. As is it is very good. "Everything That Touches You" is one of the best love songs to come out of the 60's. "Windy" and "Cherish" are classics. Nobody sounded like the Association.

This one takes me back to the 70s
I remember hearing this one on the radio all the time, so I was never inclined to need a copy of it. It does bring back all the satiny goodness of the mid-70s, tho'.

safer than Prozac more legal than pot
Yeah... I'm giving this CD a five star rating even though I know that it's missing a lot of The Associations lesser known material. Other titles from Windy and earlier albums weren't included but there's only so much you can (or could) fit onto a vinyl pressing and this is an accurate CD copy of the album that came out in 68. It is too bad everything that a great band puts out can't be in one package but that doesn't make this any less of a fine album. Some people go on about how the music is too sappy, saccharine, sugary yadda yadda yadda... OK, for some people it is (or was) but not everyone who listens to an album is a middle aged man or woman. I mean let's put this in perspective. When this album came out there were a lot of boomers around who were just kids. I was 13 yrs. old when this album came out and thought it was fantastic then. That was when I blew my allowance on my first copy of it. Being 13 in the late sixties it was pretty easy to fall into the illusion of loving...

Contains the Hits...But This Is Not Definitive
Over a two-year period in the mid-Sixties the Association were responsible for some of the most memorable pop/soft rock music of the decade. Hits like "Along Comes Mary," "Windy" and "Time for Livin" show the band capable of catchy hooks and tight harmonies, but it was the ballads like "Cherish" and "Never My Love" that the band is most identified with. [Both of these singles sold over a million copies each.] In fact, after four Top Ten singles in little over a year, the Association were voted the No. 1 Group of the Year in the U.S. by the influential Bill Gavin Radio-Record Congress in 1967.The Association's massive success also seemed to be their undoing. It forced them into a very narrow format which didn't allow for musical growth. When the band tried to broaden their appeal on singles like the hard-rocking "Six Man Band," their audience fled and the single stalled at No. 47. Even when the band returned...

Not Nearly Enough
I'll say what everyone else has been saying-- Why, oh WHY, are this band's first seven studio albums (as well as Russ Giguere's fine solo album) not in print? The Association has clearly been neglected-- not only by their label but also the voting committee for the rock'n'roll hall of fame, who have mysteriously never nominated this group whose recordings have been played OVER TEN MILLION TIMES! This hits package is adequate, but if you haven't heard "One Too Many Mornings", "Looking Glass", "Pandora's Golden Heebie Jeebies", "Goodbye Forever", "Dubuque Blues" or "Silver Morning" (none of which are included here) you are sadly missing out on some of the GREATEST POP SONGS OF ALL TIME. At the very least, we should demand an updated greatest hits anthology that's AT LEAST 74 minutes long.

the Association debut in mono
this is the first time since 1967 that the debut album by the Association in mono is back in print--and how great it is!!Steve Stanley and Now Sounds did all Association fans a big favor by releasing this wonderful cd with all the surviving band members participation.not just the original album in mono but 12 bonus tracks of instrumental versions of "along comes mary","remember","better times","your own love","where were you",the groups debut 45 on Valiant "one too many mornings"/"forty times",the 45 mix of "along comes mary",and a wonderful 16 page book of recording info and little known facts such as Terry Kirkman being a friend of Frank Zappa.Association fans(and anyone who loves their first lp)has to get this as soon as possible.

Great music, and more!
I got so much more than I expected when I purchased this mono version of And Then Along Comes the Association. I was very familiar with the music, having had the album since it first came out in stereo. But hearing the songs in mono gave it a whole new dimension. Also included on this CD is an alternate version of "I'll Be Your Man", and instrumental versions of several songs. The interviews included are interesting too. I would recommend this CD to anyone, but especially to those Association fans who think they've heard it all before. You won't be disappointed in this CD.

And Then Along Comes The Association-in mono
I love this cd. For starters, the songs are still great after all these years. The sound was crystal, the mixes could not have been better, and the alternate tracks were interesting. I can't wait for their second album, "Renaissance," to be released in mono.

LM Funding is a financial services company that provides principal secured funding to condominium associations facing the struggles of delinquent association dues. Joseph Antoon, president of the condominium association at the Sides of Moreno Point West, said LM has recovered more than $120,000, which included $105,806 in initial cash and the recovery of delinquent accounts and $15,000 in legal fees. LM Funding also pays all of the legal fees associated with the collection process, which can typically cost clients up to $10,000 if they hired a private attorney. LM Funding is currently working with more than 350 condominium associations and has 7,000-8,000 units under management. By purchasing the delinquent accounts of the associations, LM Funding provides them with upfront cash, which is not a loan, to get them back on track as they begin the collection process. Two year ago, Antoon said his association was becoming overwhelmed with the costs of legal fees and they were having little success collecting on their delinquent accounts. As LM Funding begins to collect the past due assessments, they refund it to the associations. Without the funding, the associations must find ways to remain solvent, which can include raising fees and implementing special assessments to make up the difference. The problem facing condo associations throughout the state of Florida and nationwide are owners who, due to the economy and other factors, are not paying their assessments. The service provided by LM Funding, which makes money by collecting only the late fees and interest against the delinquent accounts, has seen a local success story. By covering their legal costs, the associations don&rsquo. Looking at the numbers, LM Funding was able to collect 104 percent of the back-owed assessments on behalf of The Sides of Moreno Point West.
