Flawless
I was very skeptical, I admit. But I was pleasantly surprised, and I can't find a single flaw. The leather is very, very nice. The wood is gorgeous. The base is solid. The design, well, there's a reason why this is a "classic" design, right? This chair is ultra comfortable. I have compared all the close-up photos of the original chair from its manufacturer's website and I cannot distinguish my chair from the original designer (which costs about 9x more). I was nervous due to the lack of reviews, so I read all the feedback for Lexginton Modern and there are several positive comments from people who ordered this chair. One person's comment indicated it wasn't very reclined, but I think they put the base on backwards (an easy mistake). The packing job was great. I was a bit concerned when the box arrived with some punctures and tears, but the contents were packed with love -- and by love I mean bubble-wrap, and lots of it. I was...

Suprisingly good
So I was worried buying a "fake" Eames from a company I had never heard of and at the time there were no reviews for the chair. I must say I am impressed. The chair looks great. I grew up in a home with an authentic Eames and this chair looks right and feels right. The quality of the build is definitely not as good as buying a Herman Miller but that is why this chair is less than a third of the price. The leather is very nice, the wood finish is wonderful the grain has a lot of definition and the fixtures are solid. It has one or two spots on the edge of the plywood that are not finished perfectly but you really have to inspect the chair to find them. The delivery was very fast and the packaging was done very well. Overall I am very pleased. It looks just like a real Herman Miller Eames Lounge unless you inspect it closely. I will update my review if I find any problems as it ages.

Product Description

The Lounge Chair and Ottoman set is widely considered one of the most significant designs of the 20th century. It was designed to create a club chair using the molded plywood technology that they pioneered in the '40s. "the vision was a chair with the "warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman's mitt." The result has become the consummate lounge set, timelessly blending old-fashioned comfort and visionary modernism. Pairing soft, inviting leather with the sleek form of molded plywood, the seat is balanced on a five-star, die-cast steel base. This authentic-quality reproduction is virtually identical to the original lounge chair. The Modern Classic Plywood Lounge Chair & Ottoman is a high quality reproduction of Charles & Ray Eames iconic lounge chair design. Dimensions: Chair Dimensions: H: 33" . D: 36" . W: 34" . Eames on a budget
I recently bought this item after much agonizing. Of course I would prefer the original, authentic Herman Miller product. Who wouldn't? But cough up $4000 for a chair? Who would? Especially with reproductions like this one available.I read many of the reviews before purchasing, which is why I am writing this one. I want to add my endorsement for those who, like me, were on the fence. I know quite a lot about Eames design. I have several authentic period items, and I love them. The Lounge Chair would be the jewel in the crown. But again - $4000? I submit that no chair is worth that. But this chair is worth $700 - $800. So if you want it, buy it. You won't be disappointed. The chair arrived quickly, in a large re-inforced box. Yes, the box was beat up from the journey, but the 2 pieces of the chair and the ottoman were both carefully wrapped in bubble stuff and were undamaged. There were no instructions (or any paperwork at all) in the box - Chinese...

Damaged
The box looked like it fell off the truck a few times. One of the upper back support bolts was partially stripped so I had to replace both of the black spacers with a couple of thinner brass pipe hex fittings. Actually looks really nice with the brass and is probably stronger than the original. Everything else about the chair it awesome and it's very easy to assemble. Very happy with it now...

Great Chair
The delivery was on time and extremely secure. Lots of packing materials to ensure there were no scratches or dings. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was that the wood on the chair was not the deep color of wood that is displayed in the picute. The wood is much lighter...maybe it will darken over time. Over all we love the chair.

An affordable and classic addition to our decor
The chair is a reflection of the original iconic design. Build quality is solid. Good materials. For the price, this is a great value and a fine addition to our home decor. As pictured except for the figuring to the wood that is not as prevalent in the example I received. Natural material and variations are to be expected. Seller was very courteous and answered all inquiries.

My expert friend thought it was a real one!
I've wanted an Eames chair for years, but couldn't bring myself to spend four grand for one. When I stumbled across this reproduction, I was a little apprehensive, but figured I could always send it back if it was no good. Happily, the chair is extremely nice and I couldn't be more pleased. It's supremely comfortable, seems to be quite well made, and looks virtually identical to the real thing. In fact, when my design-loving buddy saw it, he couldn't believe it's a fake/reproduction. You'll love it.

Good product
I was satisfied but I thought the chair was a swiveled rocker also but that's not the seller's fault. The chair looked exactly like the picture. Well made and great product. The delivery was quicker than I expected. I would recommend this seller.

Lounging about
At last a book about THAT chair. Thomas Hine, one of the contributors to this interesting book, writes a chapter about the way the chair kept popping up in all the right media and this probably helped it along to its iconic status. I was aware of the chair many years ago and kept seeing it in interior design photos, adverts, and anywhere that visually needed to project an upmarket ambience. Strangely I never saw anyone sitting in these chairs and I was surprised to find, when I bought one, that the back does not support one's head. A 1956 photo used in a Herman Miller ad shows a stockbroker friend of Charles Eames clearly with his head on the back, he was either a short guy or had moved well forward in the chair. The book is a celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the chair by five contributors with over two hundred illustrations. I thought Pat Kirkham's chapter on the chair's development the most interesting. There is a 1946 photo of a chair that is clearly a...

Wonderful book
If you are an Eames Lounge Chair aficionado, this is the book for you. The text is well written and goes into great detail about the history of Ray & Charles, as well as many other designers from that era... and the photographs are beautiful. I still don't have an original Lounge Chair, but this book helps to keep my hopes alive while I sit in my knock-off, half-destroyed Plycraft that I picked up for cheap in a junk store. Enjoy!

The Eames Lounge Chair reference book.
My uncle, a well-known architect, was the first in our family to own one in the 1950's. Another member of our extended family, an attorney was the second owner shortly after. A few years ago I too succumbed and purchased an Eames chair and ottoman, and thus became the third. To my knowledge all three chairs remain intact, comfortable, enjoyed, shared by the family members, and in use. Now we have an excellent book, " The Eames Lounge Chair: An Icon of Modern Design " to enhance the knowledge of Ray and Charles Eames, The Eames Lounge Chair, and the Eames Foundation which continues the fine work of this family of designers. This hardcover book first arrived and spent a couple of months on our coffee table near the chair, a Noguchi glass table. Anyone coming over would usually take a look at the book, the chair, then the book again, and the 27-30 pages of color pictures about the chair. The glass table was missed completely. There are many pages...

Buy Eames Lounge

I found a website to be a great place for buying Eames Lounge chairs, Knoll Sofas and a lot more. Dear readers, if you are looking for the best Eames Lounge Chair , then this is the right place you have to visit. The eames lounge chairs featured here are going to appeal you for sure. There is no better place than this to buy modern classic furniture at great prices. Just have a look at the range of products featured on the home page of the website, I am sure you would be very impressed. For most of us, price is a big constraint to buy a product.

com/ny/good-questions/good-questions-reupholstering-an-eames-knockoff-062618) and "spanky's" instructions were good enough that I tried this myself. I wouldn't hesitate to do the work on a Plycraft chair, but if you have a real Eames chair. The padding is wrong -- it is lumpy, and lower than the original, the leather does not create the same effect, and the chair overall has lost some of its intrinsic Eames quality -- it now looks like a poor copy. I did mine in green corduroy because I wanted a non-leather Eames chair, and it looks fantastic (I'm intending to send in pictures once I find the cord to my digital camera). It is definitely preferable to its original state, but its current state would bother me. It is very difficult to replicate something so iconic as this chair, and I think it is beyond the skills of a neophyte, especially as a first project. Also, Eames chairs can't just be disassembled. The material was cheap and good looking, and the construction of the chair actually makes it one of the easiest possible DIY reupholstery projects (if you read the instructions on the post I linked you'll understand why, I think). don't touch it. You definintely want to hire someone to try and restore the original leather and if that can't be done, you're better off trying to acquire new chair pads than reupholstering. With that spirit in mind, I think she did an absolutely incredible job and now has a truly unique chair that she loves and can boast about. After visiting the link to Amanda's website, it's clear she did this project for the satisfaction of accomplishment and creating a chair she loves. The after shot looks amazing, and I think I like the gray leather/vinyl much more than the original black.

We can't imagine how many meals one must sacrifice to afford one of those, but if you like your speakers just as classy and expensive, these loudspeakers - which takes some obvious influence from the lines and pricing philosophy of the famous... Nothing screams "high-end" like throwing in a classic Eames Lounge Chair in your living room.
