First of all, fulfillment by Amazon was flawless. They ship it very fast and sooner than expected. I have Prime so it got here in 2 days. Nice Professional Tool
The only reasons I bought this flat iron was because the price was right - only $44.23 and the reviews were great. For $44 I thought it would be worth the risk of not knowing the manufacturer to go ahead and get this since it is a professional flat iron. I had been using a Chi iron. After reading several reviews on Amazon about how others had a CHI that broke, I thought it might be a good idea for me to get this as a backup in case my own CHI breaks soon. Now my old CHI is the backup and the HSI is my main one!This HSI flat iron is great. Better than the Chi!
This is the BEST 1" ceramic straightener I have ever used, and the price is phenomenal. I'm not sure why that other reviewer thought that this iron was a Chi product, but I'm happy that it's not. I had never heard of HSI before ordering, but I will defiantly buy any other hair tools that they make. The iron heats up quickly and has floating plates. My hair was very shiny after use, and I didn't need to use any sprays or sheens. With this flat iron, I can curl my hair, flip my hair, and of course straighten my hair. After use, my hair was bouncy and it looked almost as good as when I go to the hair salon. I could go on for hours about how much I love this new flat iron, but don't take my word for it, buy one for yourself before they raise the price. I forgot to mention that there is a teeny tiny bottle of hair serum that comes in the box with the flat iron. It works very well, but it is just a sample size, so don't expect it to last for more than 2 uses.

PERFECT HAIR FOREVER!!
I just bought a chi.. this chi to be exact. It's the goddess of all flat irons. I had a cheap Wal Mart hair iron. I used to have to wash my hair, take it into section, blow dry w/ a round brush THEN go over every piece of hair w/ my cra**y flat iron, again and again. And when I went outside, if it was rainy or humid, forget it, my hair would fuzz out all over again. I don't have curly curly hair more like really thick, frizzy, wavy sorta curly but not hair. Totally NOT cute. With the chi, my hair is super soft and looks like I was born with perfectly straight beautiful shiny hair. HA! Now I shower, towel dry and take the chii to it. It takes about 15 min. STAYS ALL DAY LONG and feels really great. I don't even need to use any anti frizz serum or anything like that. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny.

It is great! and I'm not an expert doing my hair...
I got it and couldn't wait to use it, so the first time I used it my hair looks great. People at work notice the difference. They thought I went to the Beauty Salon. There is a world of difference between a cheap one and THE CHI. Ok, so for the "no warranty issue", Amazon sells it for $94.00, other places sell it for $135.00. If you have a problem with it you can mail it along with $35.00 and they will fix or replace (per the website), so I took the risk, and anyway, the warranty is only for a year, so after that you have to pay the extra $35.00 if it breaks. Mine works great.

Worth the money!
I had been researching hair straightners for the last month or so and I must say I was impressed with this product! I received it in the mail today and just finished using it because I wanted to make sure it worked! I was a little skeptical at first when I got it out of the box and picked it up b/c it was very light weight but it really does the job! I have had another hair straightner that was 2 inches by Remington and I must say it didn't heat up near as quick as this one did. If your like me, I have really thick, natural curly hair and sometimes it takes me 3-4 times to get my hair straight which can be frustrating and very time consuming. This little gadget only took me a total of 5 minutes to straighten my whole head with shoulder length hair. :) It doesn't pull your hair like some of the other ones do and its easy to press together which is advantage for me b/c I suffer with severe arthritis. Great Product!
So I have been looking for over 2 years for a straightner that compared to the CHI in quality but not price! And this is it! Gets hot very quickly, only have to go over my hair once and it is straight as a board. I have tried so many other brands and nothing works like the Remmington. I go to bed with my hair wet, get up the next morning its super wavy and frizzy and after 5 minutes my hair is straight. I would buy this product time and time again!

Where has this iron been all my life?
I don't normally use flat irons. As a matter of fact, I rarely even use a blowdryer. I'm not what you call savvy when it comes to styling straight hair, as I stopped relaxing my naturally coarse hair (4b, I believe) back in 2007 and have experimenting with natural styles (braids, twists, etc.). So, I starting using Organix's Brazilian Keratin treatment a few months ago, and even though I was thrilled with results (super soft, very manageable hair) I could tell that the iron I was using was getting hot enough. A little searching on good ole Amazon and I found this iron for about 20 bucks. It took nearly a month before the seller finally got it to my mailbox, I did the Keratin treatment on Saturday and just flat ironed my hair again this morning. I CANNOT believe how SMOOTH and SHINY my hair is! The only time I have had similar results was when my was hot combed... I'm blown away!! Such great results for a fraction on the price! I'll be purchasing the 2" soon!

Top of the line straightener
My hair is relatively straight (about 2b, if we want to be precise) and fairly thick, although fine. I don't straighten it fully very often anymore as Im trying to grow it out and want to baby it as much as possible. That said, when I do go to straighten my hair, its great to have such a high quality tool to use.I love how fast it heats up. The package says it takes a minute, but usually its warm as soon as I turn it on. I keep it at a fairly low temperature though, so your mileage may vary. The plates also heat evenly, no hot spots!I also appreciate that the cord swivels. I like to curl my hair occasionally with my flat iron and this makes a swiveling cord a must.The controls are also very straight forward. A power button, a dial marked with the various temperatures, and a light to indicate when its on.Really there isn't any thing I dislike about this item, especially given the very reasonable price. A Miracle for my Kinky Hair!!
I am an African American woman with naturally kinky/coarse hair. I decided to stop using relaxers over a year ago, furthermore straightening my hair became a difficult task. I could never seem to get the results I was looking for out of a flat iron without going to a professional hair salon and spending $65.00 a visit.I previously used FHI ceramic flat irons which straightened my hair and then left it frizzy again within the next hour. A hairstylist friend of mines suggested the Babyliss Pro Titanium irons. I purchased them from Amazon for $70 bucks and received them in about 5 days. "A miracle!!" I can't live without them now. My hair goes from frizzy/kinky to silky/straight/shiny in the blink of an eye. The best part is that it "STAYS" silky and straight until the next time I need to wash and straighten. No gimmic here. I highly recommend them over chi and fhi.

I suffer from curly, frizzy, wild hair.. I have tried every product imaginable and this is the best product out there.. After having used a $20 straightener just to see if I'd actually use one if I had it, I finally stopped wanting to fry my hair, and decided to upgrade. I picked this one out because of the long titanium plates, and because I'd heard an alarming amount of bad things about the Chi flat irons.I have been so happy with this straightener. My hair is super straight, smooth, and shiny. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair since using it. It's glides right through my thick, stubborn, wavy hair. One stroke usually gets it perfect, some extremely stubborn parts take two. It's so easy and fast to use. I've got so much hair (a hairdresser once called me "Mufasa", if that's any indication), and I'm done in about 15 minutes.
