Senior Citizen Review of Ipod Touch
I purchased my Ipod Touch 8G in January, 2011 just for fun and to see what all the fuss was about. I use a laptop and have wireless connectivity in my home. But I don't store music on an Ipod and don't have "smart" cell phone. After using the Ipod Touch for a few months, all I can say is "WOW".This device is like carrying a small computer in your pocket. I can connect to the internet wirelessly at home and anywhere I can find a public connection--library, cafe, etc. I check my email (read and compose), facebook, Meetups, Ravelry, take pictures and movies, and with the Skype App, can video call my kids. I have become hooked on the Angry Birds game, which is fun to do while waiting anywhere. I have also downloaded audio books from my library to take with me when I travel. I knit and have any pattern I am working on loaded on my Touch so I don't worry about losing it. All this in a 2x4 inch little device I can carry with me everywhere.I considered getting...

This thing rocks!
*This review is from someone who never owned any Apple products before, married, healthcare professional, blackberry and palm TX owner (yeah I know, belongs in a museum), I was looking for a handheld internet browser by wifi, no monthly fees for 2 years, with camera, video, and apps that i can use for my work, and put in my pocket and it led me to this device. Highly Recommended item!!! - Beats custom car entertainment system
This Dvd Portable player is a pleasant suprise.... it is the best product one can have in a vehicle. I know because I have gone through two Dvd Players previously and thinking of custom made entertainment center until now. This Dual Dvd Player can actually play TWO DIFFERENT DVDS ON 2 SCREENS AT THE SAME TIME (my 5 year old girl and 4 year old boy have settled the feud on who watches Barbie and Iron Man....like, forever);or if wanted IT CAN PLAY ONE DVD ON TWO SCREENS AT THE SAME TIME (by hooking the wire to each other). Mind you this is Philips PD 7016 which came into the market barely few months ago.......and not PD7012 ( I almost got the wrong one during my selection). The volume is extraordinarily loud such that the FM Car Transmitter I ordered intending to connect the Dvd speakers to the Car Stereo is of no use to me....because the little speakers on the superd players are whoopers! It starts playing from where it stopped, even after you must have turned it off for an entire day...

Sanity in a Box.....
This is a very nicely designed product. Appearance of the case is top shelf. The video and audio quality is VERY good even on the 'remote' or slave display and the viewing angle is wide enough that it is easy to see from the middle seat.Despite some of the Philips documentation mentioning to do some features with the 'remote control', the product does not come with one nor have I found one available to purchase as an accessory.The product is fully featured and does all the things you would expect it to. You can even adjust the brightness on each display from dim-med-bright. HOWEVER- when you attempt to adjust the brightness on the 'slave' unit, it displays that this is "not available". And it seems to default the slave unit to 'dim'. BUT- if you take it out of slave mode, set the brightness and then put it back in slave mode it will keep your brightness setting. Not fatal, but one wonders why they did that.....The headrest straps route through 2...

takes a lickin and keeps on tickin!
I'm not usually the type to write in, but we have had this DVD player for 7 months now and it was worth every penny. I bought it for a cross country trip for my two and three year old expecting it to last 100 hours of play max before it began to break. I WAS WRONG--this thing has had easily over 1,000 hours of play and is still going strong (we don't have a TV and thus use this player on a daily basis).Moreover, this player has endured all the rough handling of daily life with kids--juice spills, dropping, popping open the cover while the DVD is still playing, a two year old trying to get the DVD on the center ring and repeatedly failing, repeated and very rough pressing of buttons and switches, tug of war between fighting toddlers, having the power cord ripped out, tripped over, taken in and out a dozen times in a minute, sitting in a hot car in the middle east (130 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures no kidding), sand from the beach and the desert (again, we live in the...

Great Buy
As we have frequent car trips of 2 hours to visit family on weekends, we picked up this DVD player for our 20 month old toddler. Our trips are now happy trips. This is a perfect size, the picture and sound are great. It easily plugs into any TV where we stay to view movies on a standard size TV for the family.Most importantly it works well and our trips are now comfortable for everyone and she no longer minds the time it takes to get there. The battery does last two hours but we just plug it in to the included car adapter and we don't worry about it.This player is so easy to run you don't really need the instructions.Great Buy.

Great Case
In my opinion this case is better than an otterbox. For instance, it comes with a camera flap (I think its a good feature), Clip (acts like a stand)and is somewhat waterproof. The amount of protection rivals that of the otterbox. The whole thing fits together perfectly.My only complaint is the headphone flap is kinda hard to open at first.

Not Bad For the Price
I have used this case in Afghanistan. When my iPod dropped off a 200 foot mountain this case protected my iPod without any damage to it. The clip is a little week but other than that this is a great product!

Protects great but has serious drawbacks
I have the Survivor case for my Verizon iPhone and have been using it for a couple of weeks. Here is what I found:The good: It will protect your phone, no doubt. My phone has fallen from waist height several times and spent an hour in a half inch puddle on a rainy night in a parking lot without showing any ill effects. 4.5 stars for protection (being water resistant rather than water proof is the missing half a star)The bad: The camera flap. Ugh. My iPhone having friends scoffed when I said I didn't plan on using the camera function of the phone much. The camera on my Blackberry was awful, and I just got along without it using point and shoots when I needed. They told me the camera is pretty decent on the iPhone, and I will want to use it. I didn't believe them and bought the Survivor case knowing full well that using the camera would be a pain. Well, I like the camera and would like to use it more, BUT the flap covers the lens and flash and is somewhat...

It is a great idea to have a retractable aux cord for my smartphone to car stereo, but the sound quality is lacking. There is crackling when the cord is moved. For the price...it is okay, but I would suggest buying a higher quality aux cord.

Does it all, and looks great too
I paid full price for it at Best Buy and I won't return it: it works just great. I bought it for my love of audiobooks on CD. The remote does everything you can think of. The unit allows you to quickly back up for several seconds and by chapter. The display shows everything. I don't own an IPod but I do own a Sansa player. The unit has an audio input and my Sansa plays perfectly via a small connector cable (The unit will play anything that has a headphone output. To use it I bought a 3.5mm to 3.5mm male/male connector on the internet.) And of course it has all the usual FM, AM, clock stuff.Two weaknesses: if you pause the CD for a long time, it will "forget" your last heard chapter. So you need to remember where on CD you left off. Also it's not an easy to live with wake-up clock radio because its use requires too many buttons to press (use your old clock radio).But it' a keeper for sure. Looks great, sounds great, can do absolutely everything, and takes up no real shelf...

Good Value
I wanted to update my old system to play my ipod but also wanted to have CD capability. $ wasn't an issue, but few systems had both features. Found the set-up somewhat simple and the only negative comment I can give is I have an older ipod and can only play music from playlists as this was indicated in the manual. Placed the unit in a large living/dining room area with cathedral ceilings. Can't believe the sound from this compact unit, it's amazing. Also the sliding door does concern me as I have read other reviews that this can malfunction. No regrets on this purchase so far.
