Essential for every room
Purchased 2 of these lamps from IKEA @ $20 each (GREAT BUY!). This floor lamp is an excellent addition to ANY room (living room, bed room, dorm rooms). Small footprint. The switch is a step-on switch part of the power cord (convenient). Takes 3 model E12 light bulbs, again IKEA sells a 9W (40W equivalent) 2-pack for $5. I think the floor lamp caps out at 40W max, anything above is probably a fire hazard (i.e. 3 x 100W bulbs isn't recommended). Overall, an excellent buy. Highly recommended!!

Beautiful lamp, with Important information for buyers!
This lamp is BEAUTIFUL, hands down the best lamp that I've ever owned, and if I had the room for it, I'd have bought two. The light is diffused wonderfully and it gives a soft glow that's easy to read by.Okay, important info: The lamp will take only B12 or Candelabra Base bulbs. You don't have to buy the Ikea bulbs, but the Ikea bulbs are Compact Florescent Lights and last for a very long time. It'll take any Candelabra Base/B12 bulbs, and I recommend CFLs for their lifespan.The lamp DOES NOT come with bulbs included, so buy the bulbs with the lamp. It takes 3 bulbs, and it takes 40w bulbs MAXIMUM. That's 7w in CFLs and 40w in incandescent bulbs. I tried 60w-equivalent CFLs and it tripped the breaker when I tried turning it on. Bad idea, but it taught me a valuable lesson about actually paying attention to the maximums.The lamp takes about 2 minutes to put together, and it comes in a box that you'd think would be entirely too small for it. Lamp looks good. Ship was fast, however no bulbs were included. I had some regular spare but they wont fit. Special bulbs are needed for this lamp so it is a hassle to find the appropriate type.

Great lamp! Just buy it from IKEA
Buy this lamp at IKEA if you have one nearby. It is only $10, uses up to a 60watt bulb, and looks fantastic. It is easy to assemble and even comes with a felt pad you stick to the bottom to prevent any scratching on the furniture you place the lamp on.

Elegant looking lamp
The lamp is very elegant looking and very bright for its size...which I like. The relatively small size makes it an excellent bed side lamp.The only problem I have with it is location of the on/off switch, I have never being able to turn on/off without having to look into the lamp shade to find the switch.

Its Good
Basically it's just about what I expected, but better. The stand comes in three pieces that screw right into each other. It's fast and easy to set up and looks seamless when completed. It's better than I expected because it is well made and substantial. I was expecting something a little more flimsy for the price. I'm writing this review because I have benefited from other people review of various products.

Handy pole lamp
This was perfect for my use: a directional reading lamp that can also be used to light bookshelves for browsing and brighten up a dark corner. The lamp is sturdy and the base heavy so it doestn't tip easily, but it also can be lifted and moved around when needed. Each lamp housing swivels all the way around so I can direct it anywhere: to focus on a picture on the wall or on the bookshelves. I am using compact fluorescent bulbs in the lamp so the housings stay cool to the touch while I have plenty of light to ready by. Love the lamp.

Exactly what I wanted
Do not have anything negative to say about this lamp. My favorite things about the lamp are:-Sturdy - nice study metal-Easy to Assemble!-Great Price-Love that you can adjust amount of light by turning on 1, 2 or all 3 lights-Adjustable light - the heads adjust so you can direct the light just where you want it-Sleek design - not too big so it fits almost anywhere-Came well packed in nice box.I would suggest using energy light bulbs. At first I had regular 60 watt light bulb and it got really hot, but I switched to the spiral energy saving bulbs and the heads do not get nearly as hot and the light is a lot nicer - cooler light all around.

Good floor lamp, not exactly as described though
I had bought this lamp due to not having enough space in my room for a table lamp and it definitely works well. The frosted shade protects from any glare on my television and it lights my room perfectly. The only problem with this lamp is that I had bought it with the expectation that it could dim using a 3-way bulb, however it is not capable of doing so. The product features state:# Rotary 3-way switch on torchiere and rotary switch on reading lamp# Uses 100W Type A 3-way bulb and 40W Type A bubl - Not includedHowever there is neither a rotary switch on the reading lamp nor an actual 3 way switch. Don't get me wrong, this lamp was worth the purchase due to the Amazon Prime eligibility and cheap price, although I wish that the feature description actually matched the product I had received.

Great little lamp.
Ordered this mainly as a reading lamp. It looks nice. It was really easy to put together. And one thing I love is, though the on-off switch is at the top of the lamp, there is a separate switch on the cord that I can keep by my side, thus allowing for changing, turning on, or turning off, from my recliner.Don't let people trying to sell those "sunshine" lamps fool you. I tried one from Hammacher Schlemmer. Paid a good $40.00 more, and it was UN-USABLE. The glare on the TV and on reading material made me miserable and I had to have the light shade turned down completely to keep from blinding anyone else in the room. Check out something simple like this, instead, if you just want to be able to see to read. I've gotten lots of compliments on its looks, too.

Love this lamp!
The glass shades are beautiful and the metal work is also very nice. The only things I would change would be to give the reading light it's own switch and give the torchiere a 3-way option. It has a nice, heavy weight, decorative base. I thought the price was very reasonable, too.
