Like Tracy Anderson? YOU'LL LOVE THIS!!!
A year ago, the only form of exercise I got was running. I figured that it was the only activity I needed; it kept me slim, happy, and healthy. However, I realized that my cardio habit was leaving me "skinnyfat"--I had absolutely no muscle definition in my abdomen or arms, and I was surprisingly weak. I started doing the Tracy Anderson (TA) Method. I love it and I'm still devoted to it (her mat DVD actually changed my life), but recently I've been looking for new DVDs to switch up my toning routine to complement my serious running habit. My cousin, a New Yorker, recommended Physique 57 (hereon referred to at P57), and I absolutely adore it!P57 is kind of diametrically opposed to the Tracy Anderson method in terms of presentation and approach, even though both systems strive for the same end goal (a tight, firm, and beautifully defined body). Tracy's sets are muted and she's always calm and solitary, whereas Tanya screams at you amidst a group of equally enthusiastic...

Review for Volumes 1 and 2 Complete Workout Kits (Purchased Together)
I started with dance-inspired workouts after I injured myself running too much; they are low impact, feature lots of stretching and strength conditioning, and ideally will give you the lean "dancer's body". I have used Tracey Mallett's Booty Barre DVDs and love them, and searching for related products led me to Physique 57. I really didn't want to spend so much on all the Physique 57 DVDs without trying them first, so I ordered the volume 1 full body workout DVD by itself. I had to order it directly from the website, and had to pay the shipping. I liked this workout so much that I then ordered just volume 2, and again paid for the shipping. Well, I've gotten such good results from these workouts over the past three months, that I finally caved and ordered the entire set featured here. This means I got two DVDs I already owned, but I had blabbed so much about Physique 57 to my friends that they wanted to borrow the DVDs to see for themselves, so now I have two "loaner" discs...

Humble Pie
I've been reviewing a lot of dvds lately because I've completely switched up my fitness routine these days. I've gone from lots of high intensity cardio and heavy weight training to full body workouts, yoga, and blended barre/yoga/pilates and dance programs.I would consider myself to be in good shape, but I need a change and this new direction has presented many challenges that I welcome. In recent years I've done extreme fitness programs like P90X and Insanity. In the past I've tried different pilates and yoga workouts, but quickly lost interest when they didn't yield the results I was after. So I was a bit leery to revisit this type of programming. However, I've tried several different series in the past few weeks and have had to eat my words. My latest is Physique 57. After hearing so much about it I had to give it a try. I did the 57 minute workout and was humbled when after a few minutes of leg lifts I could barely continue. I used muscles that hardly ever...
