Product Description

First surfacing in France in the 18th century, The Black Pullet> is a guide to the construction and use of magical talismanic rings. With the use of these rings, people attained extraordinary powers. Perhaps the most wonderful secret revealed is the power to produce the Black Pullet, otherwise known as the "Hen with the Golden Eggs." Unlimited wealth was granted to the person who achieved the creation of this incredible Hen.

Includes complete instructions for creating the Black Pullet. Top to learn more

Entertaining short story, not handbook of Magick
I have a 1976 paperback edition, 80 pages, published by Weiser, which I found at a used book shop. It is set in an "Egyptian" square-serif font that almost looks like it was typed on a typewriter. The cover seems to be the same as the new edition: a rough-looking woodcut of the black hen with some eggs, a gleaming sun with rays that fill the sky and "LA POULE NOIRE" written inside it.I'm very skeptical of this as a serious magickal resource. The text is in the form of a narrative, supposedly written by a French officer in Napoleon's army (though he never mentions Napoleon by name) during the Egyptian expedition. While surveying the Pyramids, his unit is attacked by Bedouins and all are killed except him. He is badly wounded, almost dead, when he is rescued by a little old man who comes out of a secret door on the side of the pyramid. Our hero convalesces in the old man's sumptuous pyramid apartment. The old fellow adopts him as his son and teaches him the secrets...

Many people interested in what they call "ceremonial magic" look at this book and or choose to use it. There is another facet of this book. This book is also used in Hoodoo and Conjure. As the lucky mojo site lists it...Orig. pub. late 1700s; this is a 1972 English-language edition, reprinted in 2000.A fabulous classic of talismanic and treasure-seeking spell-work, "The Black Pullet" has long been accepted by both Appalachian and African-American conjurers, and -- under the title "Gallina Negra" -- is also popular in Mexican brujeria and in Santeria.Take a minute to look at this book and maybe youll decide it's something you can work with.

Wit, wisdom, and warmth of the late LA Times columnist
Lovers of humor and of the English language will love this book by the late Los Angeles Times columnist Jack Clifford Smith. From pallindromes to puns, from Spoonerisms to malapropisms, Smith finds humor in the way we use language. But we find warmth as well as humor in this book. Smith had great affection for his fellow human beings and it shows in this collection of observations and musings. I miss Jack Smith as a daily columnist. I'm glad to have books such as this one to remember him by.

One of the funniest books I've ever read
My mother gave us four kids this book back when I was still in high school (oh, some 40 years ago). We still laugh out loud recalling some of the misguided perceptions of school kids he's collected. I can't recommend this book highly enough!

Product Description

Webster's bibliographic and event-based timelines are comprehensive in scope, covering virtually all topics, geographic locations and people. They do so from a linguistic point of view, and in the case of this book, the focus is on "Pullets," including when used in literature (e.g. all authors that might have Pullets in their name). As such, this book represents the largest compilation of timeline events associated with Pullets when it is used in proper noun form. Webster's timelines cover bibliographic citations, patented inventions, as well as non-conventional and alternative meanings which capture ambiguities in usage. These furthermore cover all parts of speech (possessive, institutional usage, geographic usage) and contexts, including pop culture, the arts, social sciences (linguistics, history, geography, economics, sociology, political science), business, computer science, literature, law, medicine, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology and other physical sciences. This "data dump" results in a comprehensive set of entries for a bibliographic and/or event-based timeline on the proper name Pullets, since editorial decisions to include or exclude events is purely a linguistic process. The resulting entries are used under license or with permission, used under "fair use" conditions, used in agreement with the original authors, or are in the public domain. Top to learn more

Some chickens A safe place for the chickens to sleep and lay eggs A safe place for the chickens to spend the day Chicken food Water  . See.   I raise chickens because I really enjoy knowing that some of the food my family and I eat is raised, and killed ethically, treated humanely and that I provide them with the best life possible while they are with me. But that’s not the only...   They won’t start to lay until they’re around 4 months old, so you’ll have to be patient, but you’ll get the most eggs out of a bird in her first year or so. after about 2 years, egg production drops off.   You’ll have the instant gratification eggs almost immediately, but if you buy older girls, you may have slower egg production.   Not many people raise their own meat and egg-producers, and as someone pointed out, “You know, they sell eggs and chicken at the grocery store, you don’t need to go to all this work.   I just sold my 2 ½ year old hens, 4 of them, to a family that wanted to try chickens but didn’t want to bother with chicks this year.   Pullets (hens under 1 year) or hens will be anywhere from $8 to $20 per bird, but less likely to die on you spontaneously.   Their eyesight is poor at night and they know that lots of things out there in the dark like to eat them, so their instinct is to find a safe place to roost when the sun goes down and not move until morning.   Expect to spend some time every day with your flock, feeding, watering, gathering eggs and cleaning their pen.   I take 15 minutes or so in the evening after work to check each one, gather eggs, top off water and food, and close them in for the night. However…if you’ve ever thought you might like to try your hand at chicken ranching in the city, go for it.   I’ll bet you find it’s easier and more rewarding than you thought.

) Dusan and his wife Maegan have been chicken owners for almost four years and Angel's been raising chickens for over a year. If you think of yourself as "parents" or chickens raised for eggs as "pets," you are NOT ready to have chickens. Favorite online sites of Angel and Dusan are Backyard Chickens and My Pet Chicken. VIEWPOINT FROM A NON-CHICKEN OWNER: My brother and sister-in-law raise chickens, and unless you are planning to truly keep them as pets, I can tell you this:. You've eyed a spot in your backyard, been poring over chicken books and perusing chicken breeds online to find your favorite one. Everything eats a chicken (except oddly enough my own cats, they figured out pretty fast the chickens were part of the family and never bother. Buy your chickens from a feed store or place that sells baby chicks, because you can see what you're getting. You might think you're ready (or maybe you're still on the fence), but whatever step you're on, you could probably use some advice from real "parents" who have been through it. Angel Schatz and Dusan Kwiatkowski are neighbors on Austin's East Side... We asked Angel, Dusan and Maegan to share a few insider tips that beginners to raising chickens should know (and that they wish they had known when they first started):. If you've been thinking about raising chickens, first do your research. So you're thinking about getting some chickens.

* A recent study conducted by Mother Earth News has found that eggs from pasture raised hens have higher values for a number of nutrients than USDA data for eggs from hens in confinement houses. * A study by Pennsylvania State University found 3 times the omega-3s, twice the vitamin E, and 40% more vitamin A in the eggs of chickens on pasture compared to conventional confinement laying hens. * A recent study funded by the USDA shows meat from chickens raised on pasture contained: 21% less total fat, 30% less saturated fat, 28% fewer calories, 50% more vitamin A, and 100% more omega-3 fatty acids. * A study conducted by James Madison University found bacterial contamination to be lower in pastured poultry: 133 colony-forming units per milliliter (cfu/ml) in pastured poultry compared to 3600 cfu/ml in conventional poultry. If your chickens are confined to a small coop it will be necessary to provide them with a balanced commercial chicken feed. With this said, you will need a chicken coop that is predator proof to lock your chickens in after they go to roost at night. A flock of 3 hens will produce 1 1/2 dozen eggs or more a week. Ten to fifteen week old pullets and laying hens range from $3. Multi-purpose birds are the heaviest and also good egg layers making them a duel purpose bird. They are small to very small in size, fair layers of ‘small’ eggs. So unless you plan on selling your excess fresh eggs think small flock of 2 or 3 hens. They provide a good supply of eggs and are good meat birds as well. Layers are light weight birds at laying age but produce the most eggs for the amount of feed you provide.
