Great pacing - good story
I worked with the author in the early 80's. He told me at the time of his plans to author a book. As a technical writer, I rolled my eyes to myself, after all, everyone is going to write the great American novel. Well Jim did it.The book is a detective thriller, a genre I don't often read and don't know much about. However, I can say that the flow and pacing of the story is exceptional. Character development is good too. And I truly enjoyed the story. Of course, I'm from Pittsburgh the "scene of the crime" which may have something to do with it.The gotchas in this book are editing/spelling errors and a couple of personal pet peeves, but nothing that, in itself, should stop you from reading this book if you like the genre.As the other reviewer suggested, this Jack Kane series would have a chance as a TV series if this sort of cop show was still big.
