Takes a beating
I purchased my E2D LED Defender about 3 years ago while I was in Iraq. I needed a second light in addition to the tac-light on my weapon (SureFire Scout Lite M900...highly recommended as well). Few notes below:Durable: The LED feature sold me. Far more durable than the regular bulbs. There is a great lens on this light. Very thick and does a great job focusing the light. Also, I don't know if this is a specified feature, but my light spent over a day wallowing in diesel fuel (almost completely submersed). I cleaned the light with non-corrosive oil and that was it...still lighting up the night.Shock Proof: I have no idea how many times I dropped this with no negative effect to the light. This light was on me during a dismounted patrol when we were hit with an enemy fragmentation grenade. It blew out four of our tac-lights on our weapons, but I had my E2D as back up to assist in clearing the area. The light was clipped to my belt on the side of the blast, so it...

Life saving precision tool
The thought of spending $150 on a flashlight was completely absurd to me. That is until I saw what a $150 flashlight could do.I don't know how else to say this. This illumination tool will completely change the way you do business. For the average person, a flashlight is sort of a novelty device that can come in handy once in a while. For campers, emergency workers, and disaster conscious folks, the usefulness that the E2D LED Defender brings to the table is a bargain at $150.Not only is this thing ridiculously bright, but it's bright in a way that is completely next level. This is no less than a search light or spot light. It doesn't just make things more visible, it mimics sunlight. You can see vivid colors and depth and this thing casts it's light FAR.I mean I-can-look-into-the-bushes-two-blocks-away-far.And to top it all off, it's strong enough and shaped just right incase you ever need to take a chunk out of some idiot's head...

Awesome LED illumination
This has become my second Surefire flashlight in 13 years. Ironically, Surefire seems to make such a dependable, durable, and well-designed piece of equipment that I can not be the frequent customer I should be. Prior to this I owned a 9N flashlight, but the bulb assembly finally broke and can not be replaced.Enter the E2D LED.I was first impressed with the smallness of this flashlight. It fits very nicely into my hand, and equally so in a pocket. It feels very light. The double-tap activation switch works well, and I believe it to be a great bit of practical design. I do not miss the "twist" type of activation switch from my previous Surefire. Switching from High to Low power on the E2D LED does take a bit of practice, but once you get your timing down, it's not a consideration. The full-power brightness of this light is awe-inspiring. I still feel almost blinded when initially firing this light up. I sometimes squint to overcome it. Seriously. The...

Product Description
The E2D LED is a compact, dual-output flashlight with self-defense enhancements. It features a virtually indestructible power-regulated LED emitter and a Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens. The E2D LED's pushbutton tailcap click switch lets you activate the flashlight and select output level: press or click for a 200-lumen high beam—ten times the light of a big two-D-cell flashlight, more than enough to overwhelm an aggressor's night-adapted vision; release or click off and press or click again for a 5-lumen ultra long-runtime low beam that's suitable for navigating around a dark room or parking lot. The Defender's crenellated Strike Bezel and scalloped tailcap provide further defensive options should the need arise. Top to learn more
The E2DL Defender LED Flashlight performs double duty as both a high-quality, everyday flashlight and a reliable self-defense tool. The durable and compact flashlight provides dual-output LED lighting with a virtually indestructible power-regulated LED emitter. With a tactical high mode of 200 lumens, the E2DL Defender can overwhelm an aggressor's night adapted vision instantly. The Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens focuses the light into a powerful beam that will still cast a wide enough swath for peripheral vision. Meanwhile, the flashlight's scalloped tailcap and Crenellated Strike Bezel provide additional tools for your defense. The E2DL Defender is operated by a pushbutton tailcap that allows you to activate the light's high beam instantly or select between modes. The low, 5-lumen output offers runtimes of up to 76 hours for long-term, navigational use. Built to last, the E2DL Defender features a mil-spec type III build of hard, anodized aerospace aluminum. The handle is textured for a secure grip, and the flashlight is equipped with a belt clip for easy carrying.
