sword cleaning kit, very good!
Super fast shipping. Kit was nicer than pictured,oil in clay vase,lint free cloth instead of rice paper,and a set of replacement mekugi pegs. As well, a brass hammer and wooden driver pin for removeing pegs,and 2" powder ball all in a well marked wooden display box without splinters. Overall very nice for the money. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone in need of a quality sword cleaning kit! Thanks, Mike

Katana Maintenance is a Must!!!

A good and useful buy for the price
I can't go into a lot of detail since I'm a NEWBIE at this sword-maintenance stuff, but this sort of thing is a must if you're buying any sword that's made of high-carbon steel (the composition of which is susceptible to rust). Even if it's for display only, a sword must be cleaned on a fairly regular basis to ward off rusting, and obviously water isn't exactly the ideal method, dig it?The cleaning kit comes in a wooden box that feels fairly cheap but at the same time antique, and given the nature of the product, I'm going to chalk that up as a good thing--just, um, be careful with the box. Mine had some scuff-marks on the lid that slightly took away from the kanji markings on top, but meh, I don't especially care--and I'm pretty sure that was just my own bad luck. There's an instruction sheet, easy enough to follow and all that, but it loses a star for being on very, very thin paper and giving no indication as to how often a sword should generally be maintained.
