After reading and applying i have a new dog!
I have been training my Labrador Retreiver puppy now for a couple weeks I haven't been very lucky. After buying this book and applying the skills and tips to my puppy lab It is a whole new dog. I was having a very hard time with my puppy jumping up on people and the training tips they have in this book has taught me how to make my dog stop doing this. I would recommend this to anyone looking to have a well behaved family dog and great with strangers.

Stops labs from inhaling their food!
Immediately stops pups from eating too fast. I am a vet and I love the royal canin line because of the amount of research they put into their food. I used to think breed specific diets were silly, however they have legitimate reasons for each food they produce. Stopping labs from inhaling food if just one of them!

EXCELLENT PRODUCT, convenient, and a great value
My Yellow Labrador as a puppy would vacuum his food up at feeding time. This product controlled that immediately. My current puppy is the fourth one using this dry kibble. I know they are being optimally nourished using Royal Canin. Their only treats are carrots, apple slices and frozen broccoli. All four grew up into magnificent specimens with no problems or issues. They all had a great coats, no digestive problems and clean teeth. While I only have them for 18 months while puppy training, I do get to see them as they graduate as Guide Dogs knowing they had a good start with this kibble.Amazon makes it easy to have it delivered to your door at substantially less cost than the big box pet stores. A Very Helpful Book
Surprisingly, this Kindle book has quite a bit of helpful information on what to do with a new Labrador puppy in the first few weeks. I know labs and if people follow the advice offered in this book the transition coming into a new home will be very smooth and lay the groundwork for a happy and healthy future with the new family.

An Excellent First Book for the New Labrador Puppy Owner
We decided to bring home a new Labrador puppy, so I start looking for an appropriate book and downloaded this one. It did not disappoint. It has all the information and more that I was looking for. It covers exactly what you should do when bringing home your puppy and what to do in the months that follow. I am not sure what that other reviewer was disappointed about. This is a very helpful book. However, it is not really a book for older labs, so maybe that is what they were looking for. This is a puppy book. It even tells you how to make your home safe before the puppy arrives. I learned a lot from this book and recommend it.

What a Helpful Book!
I got this for my daughter so she would know what to do with her new Lab puppy. I read through it first to make sure it would be helpful for her and written on a level she would understand. It was perfect and covers quite a few topics. And yes the games to play with your puppy look fun. Labs need lots of exercise, so these games will be great!

Helpful Labrador Training Book
I needed a good resource to start training my labrador. I saw this book and thought I would give it a try.I really did not know where to begin, but this book got me pointed in the right direction right from the start. This book starts out by giving a brief history of of the Labrador breed. It then details the specifics of the Labrador Breed along with common heakth problem that you should be aware of before training. Other chapters that I found very helpful were the chapters on potty training and obedience training. When I put the tips into practice, I began to see a difference within a few days.All in all if you are looking for a good resource on training your lab, then I think you owe it to yourself to get this book and try it out. I was pleasantly surprised, and I think you will be, too.

A good book for all ages
My daughter checked this book out of her school library and we both fell in love with it. I'm actually writing this review because I was hoping to buy Jake on Amazon (rather than "forget" to return it to the school library! :) The book is about the training of puppy Jake to be a hunting dog. You see how Jake fits into the established relationship between the owner and his older lab who is ready to "retire."The prose is simple but not simplistic, and the process of seeing Jake grow up and fill a place in his owner's heart is touching without being maudlin. It's directed at children, and my daughter had no trouble reading it at 2nd grade, although it is longer than most books directed at early readers.I think anyone who loves dogs would enjoy this book, but if you're a lab lover, this will quickly be a favorite.
