A delight to use
I managed to get my hands on one of these in Jan 2012, and believe me it was difficult. The body weighs very little without the battery or lens, which is as it should be. Put the weight into a great set of lenses. Place one of those great lenses on this camera, and I've tried the 18-55, 55-210 and zeiss 24, and the results are wonderful. Yes you can argue that at not so low iso ratings the 24 MP is noisy, but dial down the noise in post image processing (I shoot in raw format) and the results are superb.I find the viewfinder to be remarkably good, better than optical viewfinders as I really see what I will get, and every time I look through it I am stunned at the fidelity. After a great shot the result can look almost 3d, if you have preview one. No dancing dots have crossed my eye's path.I upgraded from the 5n, which lacked the viewfinder in particular. The difference in ergonomics and quality is worthwhile. Also worthwhile is the expensive Zeiss...

Top of the line, for now.
Update: I recently got hold of a Minolta 3600HS(D) flash for dirt cheap ($50 shipped) and it works wonderfully with the NEX-7. Metering TTL is perfect and my indoor photos look great with bounce flash. Of course, it's a bit big and will add some weight to your camera, but well worth it.An average review from an average Joe using a not-so-average camera.HARDWARE:The build is sexy. It screams quality. Magnesium alloy body makes it heavier and bigger than the previous NEXes, as expected, but it's a welcomed extra weight. I don't have small hands and always thought the NEX-5/5N, as nice as the form is, felt a little bit like a toy. So I definitely appreciate the NEX-7's new size and weight, something I can really wrap my fingers around.I think Sony have a pretty perfect layout, or at least one that really works. I'm sure you've heard all about the latest-and-greatest Electronic Viewfinder with its amazing high resolution, and the intuitive...

More than a pocket camera, the 24.3 megapixel NEX-7 exceeds expectations. Here’s performance that would give most DSLRs camera envy, including interchangeable lenses, a 2359K dot OLED eye-level TTL viewfinder, up to 10fps shooting, and outstanding Tri-Navi 3-dial manual control. HD movies are superb with Full 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60p, 60i and 24p. Top to learn more
Great in a lot of ways but not perfect. Worth the spend
A little background to give you perspective on the review. I'm an advanced amateur shooting for about 10 years. I also own a Canon 5D Mark II with some L Zoom lenses (24-70 F2.8 and the 70-200 F2.8) and the very good 50mm 1.8 prime and a Fuji X100.I spent a lot of time (probably over 40 hours) researching this camera, reading reviews etc. before buying it on Amazon from a third party seller. I've had it about a week now and shooting with with the Sony 18-200 Zoom Lens (SEL18200). Below are my observations:Good:1. Very small camera body, smaller than my X100 and feels a lot like my old S90 compact in terms of size (this is of course without the lens). With the 18-200 lens its no longer pocketable but still small and very manageable compared to a SLR.2. Great build quality, tough body, I like the styling and I love the handgrip. Just the right size.3. Probably the fastest shutter I have ever used, very little shutter lag.4. Easy...

An independent work that should be on a top 10 list
I'm reading my third M.H. Sargent book is as many days and not getting much sleep. Seven Days from Sunday and the other two works from this independent author are all well crafted, have memorable characters and many twist in plot to keep your attention. Like a Grisham novel, Sargent sets the hook early and weaves a story that keeps you turning pages until late in the night. Centered around the Iraq war, the context is fresh with lots of action and intrigue. The author does an excellent job of developing his characters, each with distinct personalities that are consistent in each book. While most modern fiction has a central theme of sex, corruption and ample profanity, it's refreshing to find a good clean read.Grisham was an unknown when "A Time to Kill" was published. I suggest M.H. Sargent falls in the same category. Only marketing and name recognition stand in the way of this author's works on the NYT best seller list.

Can't Wait for Another Book
Fast paced thriller that I just couldn't put down. It was believable and the characters were well rounded. Highly recommend this book. I can't wait for another book with these characters or another Sargent book.

Fantastic & Exciting
What an exciting read this was. I enjoyed the character development in this well edited & formatted book. To me, a sign of a good book is how fast I rushed through it, the faster I read, the more exciting and interesting it is. I finished this one in record time. Thank you for a well-crafted read.

In this fast paced thriller, Iraq's top terrorist makes two promises - a kidnapped American contractor will be executed on a given date, his body dumped in Baghdad's Green Zone and a major attack will occur in seven days.
Working desperately to find the American and thwart the impending attack is an elite 4-man CIA team which includes an attractive female doctor. But they can only watch helplessly as the terrorist and his masked henchmen behead the American during a live video feed carried on the Internet.
What they don't know is that one of the masked men is not a terrorist, but completely innocent. He is an Iraqi pharmacist who has infiltrated the group. His only objective - to find his missing fiancée, who the terrorist has also kidnapped.
After the beheading, he is free to go. But little does he know that his fiancée will bring the deceased American's head to the Green Zone, and inside the dead man's mouth is evidence linking him to the terrorist.
This is the first novel in M.H. Sargent's popular MP-5 CIA series. The other novels include The Shot To Die For, Operation Spider Web, The Yemen Connection and Alliance of Evil. Sargent has also written a murder mystery set during WWII, Toward Night's End.

Works great!
I bought this video player before a road trip for my 3 year old son to use in the car. Overall, I have to say that it works great. I used the Open Source software Handbrake to convert some of his children's DVDs to video files (MKV with h.264 video codec). I then copied the files to the player using the included USB cable which was a little slow due to the nature of the maximum speed of a USB 2.0 connection, something you don't think about until you are actually copying nearly 8GB of files. Once the files were copied over, the video playback on the device was excellent. I was a little concerned that I wouldn't be able to fit many of his shows onto the internal 8GB memory, but I was able to convert more or less full DVDs into ~850MB files, but most of the DVDs which are not full converted into files about half that size. I was able to fit lots of these into the internal memory. I bought an extra long USB cable at a local electronics store to be able to charge the player in the...

Great Player
I bought this player a little over a month ago and I love it. It works as advertised. I use it on the train to watch videos and movies. It has a really nice picture and the screen is big enough to see, but small enough to be light. I even read PDF books on it.

Working Great in Nexus One, Better than Class 2 Performance
I've been impressed with the Sandisk 32GB Class 2 microSDHC card so far. I bought it with bulk packaging, which means it came in a small plastic clam shell case slipped into a little plastic envelope. There were no included adapters.I'm using the card in my Android Nexus One cellphone. I've used a benchmark app on the phone to gauge performance of the card, and it is doing about 5MB/sec writes and 9MB/sec reads. This is with settings at 10MB test data size and 8KB write unit size. I saw similar write performance when the card was mounted on my PC via a USB 2.0 card adapter. These numbers indicate it's performing somewhat better than the minimum guaranteed for Class 4 cards, which is great. I'm coming from a 16GB Class 6 card and haven't noticed any performance hits, so far.

SanDisk switches to Class 4
As of December 2010, SanDisk has updated the Class on SDSDQ-032G from Class 2 to Class 4.However, SanDisk is removing any mention of "Class" on non-ULTRA non-EXTREME card retail packaging in order to have the flexibility to package whichever class card the SanDisk factory sees fit. Unfortunately, SanDisk does not believe the average consumer cares about what Class designation is on the memory card, though many consumers do care.Unfortunately, since SanDisk uses the same P/N and UPC code, there is no way to tell whether Class 2 or Class 4 will ship inside the package. This is compounded by not all vendors and fulfillment centers use FIFO inventory shipping standards and old inventory can persist for a very long time.Customers seeking further information about this change may contact SanDisk customer service at 1-866-SANDISK.

A proper discarding sabot round need not be sophisticated or expensive, a simple tool steel 6mm penetrator in a one piece synthetic sabot like the CBJ will give the recoil reducing and armour penetrating benefits of the MP7 and P90 on a much lower... The only disadvantage is that steel is less dense than lead, so a lead core might still be beneficial to retain a good ballistic coefficient, while retaining a thick wall of steel preserves the hardness needed to penetrate armor. In order to ensure reliable operation in a 9mm weapon, the external profile of the round would have to resemple the round nose FMJ. Since you’re not touching the rifling, the projectile does not need a jacket, it can simply be made from solid steel, and can simply be a 7mm diameter cylinder with a pointed nose, making it cheap to manufacture along with a synthetic sabot a la... At least FN when through the effort of making a relatively radical new compact and high capacity weapon to gi with their new round….
