My system
My system consists of Mythos 4's for the Front speakers, Mythos 5's for the rear surrounds, a Mythos 3 for the center channel and a Super Cube II for the sub. I drive these with a Denon 2310ci and my video is a Pioneer Elite KURO signature series 60" monitor 141FD. My AV room is around 14' x 20.The sound from this system is really nice. Clean and uncolored, very natural best describes it. The system also has a great Wife Acceptance Factor. The look is classy and does not look out of place in the room. The center channel is amazingly clear. I've always had a complaint about the muffled center channel sound on many home systems. This center delivers. The Denon Audyssey setup leaves a sound stage that is close to perfect. No holes or hotspots. The sub is powerful and moves a tremendous amount of air for it's diminutive size.I find that the system is as good for listening to music as it is for surround sound and while not inexpensive, it is one of the...

Crystal Clear
I recently had to change my surround sound set up due to placement of a new flat screen. I purchased the Mythos Seven to replace my Klipsch C2 center channel speaker. I was very impressed with the overall sound quality and the clarity of voices. At times with my old set up voices were hard to hear depending on what was going on in the movie. With the Mythos center I have not had this problem. Also, the size of the speaker was great with my set up. The speaker was small enough to fit on my mantle underneath the TV. I was so impressed with the speakers that I have decided to purchase the Mythos five to compliment the center.

Definitive Delivers Again!
I needed a low-profile center channel to replace my bulkier DefTech older speaker (ProCenter100) and chose this one based on price and dimensions.I had no worries about choosing DefTech again b/c I have owned a 5.1 sytem from them since 2000, and have been absolutely satisfied since day one! They also just recently sent me replacement parts at no cost to fix a damaged satellite speaker and the process was exceptional with their customer service department!Let's face it - If you love GREAT sound and service you can brag about to your friends who aren't audiophile nerds, and you yourself are as close to an audiophile nerd as I am, don't blow your money on other systems/speakers. Great sound from a slim, low profile speaker
5 stars based on a fuller range sound coming from a slender design speaker used in a small room when large box towers are not an option. I still prefer large box towers when space is not an issue but those with space limitations should check these out.1. Packaging was very good, double boxed, secure and no issues with shipping.2. The STS was an upgrade from my old fronts, Mythos ones. I read great reviews online about the STS and ST and was impressed when I heard them in person. The upgrade made a big difference, the STS really do sound like big speakers with a wide dynamic range which was missing with the Mythos Ones (even with a supercube 1), the Ones sounded thin and small. If space is an issue or the wife won't let you get those big box towers then check out the STS and ST, I was pleasantly surprised.3. STS's
I own 4 Mythos STS's a center channel Mythos Ten 2 Mythos gem xl's and 2 super cube reference sub woofers along with a Denon 4308CI for a full 7.2 setup. These speakers are unbelievable. The bass my 4 STS's combined put out is very powerful!!! so powerful that I really have no need to turn on my 2 subs which are 1,800 watts apiece. With the 4 STS's combined I have a total of 1,200 watts of subs. The sound I get is very very forceful and in your face!! You don't just hear your favorite music and movies you feel it!!! God help me and my neighbors if I decide to turn on my two Super cube Reference Subs. Voice quality is phenomenal sometimes it sounds as if the person is right there in the room with me. They excel at every type of music And when I say I listen to everything I mean it, They do a perfect job from the synthesizer's of the 80's and some of my favorites like the Cars and The Talking Heads to the organs of Janis Joplin and Al Green and the great sounds of Thin Lizzy the Beatles...

Great Speakers!
I'm just using a pair in stereo now, and these speakers sound great. The bass is awesome. I like the fact that I didn't have to mess with crossover frequency - it's built in. Also, having two "subwoofers" minimizes the chances of a bass void or peak in my room. They look good, too, but might be a little "tippy" if the cat takes an interest.

Happy ST owner
I've owned my STs, along with a Mythos 10 center and a pair of Gem XLs for about a year. They are powered by a Denon 4308ci. They are beautiful, and really complement the black frame on my Pioneer plasma. Very high WAF.But the sound is the important thing, right? I listen to a wide variety of music, from classical to alternative rock to folk. These speakers shine at reproducing the human voice. It's easy to fool someone with a rock guitar or synth, but everyone knows what a voice should sound like. Clarity, balance, and presence are all outstanding with these speakers. Listening to Norah Jones singing "Turn Me On" with these speakers will floor you.One complaint I have is that there's a pretty narrow sweet spot where you have to sit (at least in my room) for listening perfection, especially in stereo. Everyone else thinks the sound is perfect until they sit in my seat!I also use this system for my home theater with excellent results. Sound clarity...

Mythos st vs motion 12 vs majik 140
Im adding this review for people who find themselves in the same situation I was in, wanting a great HT, but want quality music especially classical and acoustic. Living in Dubai, my choices were limited and pricing is usually above anything in the US. I already have the Kuro 60 as my screen but needed the receiver and speakers. I wanted to buy the speaker set for about 5000 but was willing to go up 8000 if quality justified it. Looks were important for my wife and myself too, but she didn't enjoy the idea of the subwoofer :)Reviews clearly indicated the mythos ST as the best option for my criteria. I wanted to have a chance to compare them with higher quality brands to know what I would be missing. So I went to a high end audio store to listen to what they had. I auditioned the motion series HT setup: these were motion 4 all around with motion 8 center. Great sound in front, but not enough power in surround leading to effects not really feeling immersive. Good Bang For the Buck
These are very good speakers. I use them just for 2 channel music.I have had them for a few months, and have put them through the paces with good and bad tunes. I might not be an audiophile, but I have some very good stuff I have assembled over the years.Most snobs would never give these a listen due to the name of a mass producer on them. That is too bad as mass produced things greatly reduce the cost and either there is quality in the product or there is not. The name badge means nothing. I find this true of many POLK products also. These Def Tec ST Speakers are quality.Back to the speakers --For me, don't need a sub for these. If I had them at the TV, of course, but for music - not needed. I have a good sub hooked in, but it is wasted there.These can work well in a large room. I have them in my basement/bar, and the room is about 1100 sq ft. They handle it with ease. Bi-polar fun
Have lived with 2 of these speakers for a month. I wanted a separate two channel rig to play CD's separate from my home theater. I know many folks will want to use these speakers in that context, but this sort of set up will reveal any flaws inherent in the speakers themselves alone, not a complex of surrounds, subs and other factors.Unpacking and delivery. OMG. These boxes are huge. The delivery guys are really struggling bringing them in the door. If you plan to move these yourself you had better be capable and have a strong back. The boxes are literally nine feet long and are at least 150 lbs each. Unpacking them required a bit of time. They are doble boxed, so there is a lot of speaker box remaining. The best strategy is to open the bottom end first, peel away the plastic from that, and them tip the box upright. Then, carefully split the seam on the sides, enabling you to unwrap them. Be careful as there is highly finished wood on the top and bottom, and the speaker...

BP7000SC - Awesome...
As there are no local retailers to demo the Def Tech BP7000SC super towers, I took a flier on selecting them based on the superb performance of my previous Def Tech purchases of the Super Cube II and the 6.5" outdoor speakers along with the all the positive feedback and reviews.As I'm not one to take this kind of risk, I was a bit nervous of what to expect when they arrived...But when they did, I was in complete amazement... popped in a variety of music genres from classical, progressive jazz/funk, new age, classic rock, alternative rock, mellow rock that contains good vocal parameters, and some R&B. Took some time to fiddled with the subwoofer volume to get the blend to my preference then just sat back and just smiled...What a beautiful sounding pair of speakers - full, open, airy, detailed, and pack a good punch when required.After that musical audio check, flipped to a movie to check the surround sound and was equally blown away by...

Need a big room
I have these two as my main speakers in a 7 channel setup all def tech. You NEED a big room with these speakers. I love watching movies and TV with them, and they are not bad listen to just plain stereo music or CDs. As someone else mentioned, these speakers can pick up different quality of recordings and if it is poorly recorded they will make it sound poor. It is not the speakers it's the music that is badly recorded. These speakers can produce very low bass with very high tweets. I have them connected to a B&K 200 watt/each channel amp and trust me it is more than enough sound that comes out. I have the sub volume only turned up about the second line any more the bass is overpowering. I was fortunate to have a loaner pair to play around (abuse) for a little while. Popped in a bass cd and turned bass full blast and cranked the volume up. To spare my system of any wear and tear on doing this I disconnected everything else. Plugging ears and crank the volume up... yeah they popped...

Crystal Clear Sound!

These speakers are worth every dime I spend on them!! They fit perfect next to my projection screen without standing out, and deliver great sound from my L/R front speakers. I going to replace my center next with the same XTR 60.
