Great Upgrade Over 3/8" And Other Air Hoses
I had purchased a new Chicago Pneumatic 3/4" impact and needed better CFM air flow than is provided by the 1/4" NPT 3/8" hoses that are most common. My only 1/2" air hose was 25' Goodyear "Red" hose and connected a small sandblaster, so I needed a second one for proper performance from my new 3/4" impact tool - and longer for my large home garage use. Of course, I also purchased new couplers and fittings to keep that flow high on my new 1/2" air hose. I found the 3/8" x 1/2" NPT Dixon Air Chief Industrial I needed were in stock at Amazon, and purchased all of them I needed directly from Amazon to complement the new 1/2" air hose (the 1/2" hose purchased through Amazon from Buzzard Gulch Inc). I also purchased a new 50' 3/8" x 1/4" NPT air hose direct from Amazon at a great low price - too low to pass by. Both hoses arrived on the same day and in very quick order using standard shipping. The lower prices here kind of made it a one stop shopping adventure at Amazon - one that...

Good, Solid Hose
This hose has already seen a lot of use down-hole for well digging, and it's held up very well. The fittings are tight and the hose itself is very strong. The one I purchased has 1/2" fittings, which ensures plentiful air supply to the well drill.

One of the best hoses I've used, fittings are a bit soft.
After using this hose with my framing gun for a few weeks the Campbell Hausfeld quick release valve I had bought broke and I had threaded it in with Teflon tape for a tight seal. While trying to get the valve off, the hex nut on the hose stripped and I couldn't get a good grip on it again. I chalked it up to crappy brass and decided I'd go with another brand, Porter Cable.Just got the Porter Cable delivered and as soon as I opened it the difference in quality was pretty clear. The Goodyear hose is thicker (more rubber around the chamber), more flexible, has nice anti bend sheaths at the ends and just feels like a quality product. In comparison I almost mistook the Porter Cable as the wrong size because it is so skinny, which tells me that the rubber is thin. The hose feels stiff, almost like a PVC, though it's clearly labeled as rubber and it stank to high heaven when I opened it.The Porter Cable was $4 less than the Goodyear and looks to have the same fittings but...
