Great Buy
I've had the same QVC pots and pans my mom bought me for the last 7 years or so, wow was I missing out. I did extensive research, reading product reviews and weighing my options for a nice set of pots and pans and these were everything I'd hoped they'd be. They hold the heat incredibly well, very sturdy, the glass covers are awesome, I can and have washed them in the dishwasher repeatedly (according to the kitchenaid website this is fine), the handles stay nice and cool on the ends, but don't grab too close to the pan because it does abruptly become very hot. Great set for the price in my opinion. Kitchenaid has not let me down yet.

the best cookware ever
OMG! Retired, cooking more has never been better since my new kitchen aid pots and pan set arrived. They are of the utmost quality and the lids, with silicone seals, are awesome. There is a pot/pan for every need. They will last my lifetime and be used by the next gen. Thanks Kitchen-Aid!

Best cookware Yet!
I greatly enjoy cooking and have tried several brands of cookware, this is the best cookware yet. I appreciate the no nonstick nonsense without chemicals. If you value good food cooked with little effort without chemicals than this is for you. Whe you cook with this cookware add a little oil and cook your food on a lower tempature. Done cooking- add a little water and leave on stove for few minutes. Will clean up in a minute! I do hand wash this cookware but it's so easy and pretty I'd hate to put it in the dishwasher.

Great Set for the Money
I shopped around quite a bit before finally settling on this set and I am very pleased with my purchase. I don't understand a lot of the complaints.The fact that the set is a bit heavy is a plus in my book, not a minus. I would have been greatly disappointed if they would have been light and flimsy. I checked out a few different good sets at bed, bath and beyond before buying on-line, and I didn't think any of the big name brand hard adonized sets were any lighter than these.One of the big selling points for me for this set is the fact that they are oven safe to 500 degrees. I have a few recipes I use all the time that start out on the stove and then move into a 375 or 400 oven, or finish under the broiler and this set can take that. Some of the others I compared have handles that won't take that kind of heat. Really GREAT set! Not non-stick? No problem
Really beautiful on the stove. The shining, sloping sides add a very elegant and sophisticated air. Extremely quick and even heating. Handles stay cool. Just all around a great cookset! We almost didnt get it for 2 concerns: we were concerned the handles would get too hot (they stay cool!) and difficult cleaning ..we were looking for non-stick (these still clean quick and easy with a swipe of a brillo pad). We've since realized that non-stick would wear out in 5-7 years but without it...these should last almost forever! Great purchase.

Leaking rivets? No problem at all!
I almost did not buy this cookware set because of the reviews that mentioned leaking rivets. But here's the real deal.The rivets that attach the handles to the pans are located high on the sides of the pans. If you fill a pot clear up to the rivets, you'll have lots of splashes and spatters as you cook and stir. The easy solution? Use a bigger pot! No spatters, and no leaks.Out of curiosity, when I was washing mine prior to use I did fill them up over the rivets, and no leaks on my set.So, a little more on the set in general. I purchased this as a replacement for my 35 year old Revereware, which was wobbly on my new glass induction stove. Also wanted to get rid of the nonstick stuff for health reasons. This is perfect, very stable, great heat conduction, glass lids fit well and make it easy to monitor cooking. A joy to use, and on top of that they look gorgeous.My suggestion is to notice the cooking hints in these reviews, and...

Update: 4 years later and I still love the set! They work great. They're holding up well. No issues at all.Original review:This cookware is wonderful! I purchased it after going through my second set of anodized nonstick that didn't stay nonstick. I wish they had more pieces available that match. I've already bought the saute pan and the roaster separately. Unfortunately, I had to get a nonmatching KitchenAid saucier.I'll admit I wasn't thrilled about the sloping sides at first. But they've grown on me -- they work. The lids don't get as hot as other pans I have.It heats evenly and holds the heat forever. They're easy to clean - a few minutes soak for the worst mess works - and you can use brillo pads. You can use metal utensils (wisks, spatulas, *SPOONS*) in it. Folks, there is a reason that you never see the real chefs on Food Network using nonstick!But for me personally, the best was when my mother-in-law came to stay for a few...

Was weary of SS cookware but, Love these!!!
When we noticed our non-stick pans were losing their non-stick (into ours and our childrens food) we decided it was time to look at the alternative to teflon and non-stick coating. We waffled over whether to go cast iron or stainless. I was worried about cooking with stainless because of the sticking issue but decided to bite the bullet and went ahead and purchased these. I have to say, we LOVE them! My husband is able to make the most amazing omelettes without leaving half of it behind. I haven't had much trouble with sticking at all. Scrambled eggs and hash browns seem to be the worst so far and with 15 mins of soaking the pans in water I am able to just scrub them clean with my nylon scrubby sponge. They are tough and durable and seem to put up with alot of use. We aren't occasional cookers, as a family of five these pots and pans get used daily. The price is right but dont let it fool you! Can't say enough.

Very Sastified
I did a bunch of research before buying new pots and pans. The reviews I read on this set made me believe that it was the best value for the money. The set arrived in beautiful condition and has remained that way with a good hand washing and drying.The negatives I saw in the reviews here were that things were sticking and the handles got hot. I have not had a problem with either. In my opinion and from my experience the people who had food stick to the pans need to alter their cooking methods. Non-stick cookware, aside from not lasting very long and being dangerous to your health, has removed oils and butter from many peoples recipies. As for the handles getting hot, you need to use a burner that is equal to or smaller in size than the bottom of the cookware. I use the proper size burners and even when cooking at high temperatures my handles stay cool to the touch.Hopefully this helps.

Great product at a SUPER GREAT PRICE!!!!
I have wanted copper-lined pots and pans for years, but I could not bring myself to drop the big bucks! I found these on Amazon and thought I would give them a try.... I AM SO HAPPY I DID! I am not a super crazy cook, I cook a few times a week. These are just right for people like me! They clean up super easy, they are as shiny as the day I bought them, I even have used a metal fork to stir (I know, not good move!) but they are completely scratch free!!! And they heat up quickly and evenly throughout the whole pan ( not just in the middle like cheap ones do!). I say give them a try! Why drop $500 when you can get a great product for way less???

Simply amazing, can't be beat
Such value for money here, no need to spend 3-4x as much on All-Clad...these are just as heavy and put together just as well. I'm glad I could never get myself to drop the $$$ on the other companies product. I expected them to be nice from reading the Consumer Reports piece but I was blown away by this set.This IS the set to buy, don't get a nonstick set...from experience. Even the best coatings wear off over time, you can't use metal whisks in them, and who really needs a nonstick stock pot?You don't need nonstick for most cooking, you will get better browning and pan sauces from a regular pan, yes you need nonstick for eggs and pancakes but you can always buy a matching nonstick skillet to go with these and still wind up spending much less.

Better than Expected
I usually like to see and feel things before buying them online, but I took a gamble this time based on review here and elsewhere and it paid off. I could not find this set in any store locally. This set is MUCH better than I expected it to be. The pans are Heavy, (but thats a quality heavy not a too "heavy" to lift) and compared to a stainless Farberware set I've bought in the past, I think I will like this set even more. It seems to be built to last (my $100.00 Farberware set is 14 years old). I like the fact that you can put these (frying pans) in the oven without too much worry on "melting" the handles. I like the way the covers fit on the pots as well.

I received my KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials set this week, and I am thrilled! The first thing I noticed was the perfect weight of the pans . . . then I decided to put the small skillet to the ultimate test . . . scrambled eggs! Honestly, I expected them to stick like glue to the pan. I sprayed first with a non-stick spray, added a teaspoon of butter (like always), and cooked the most perfect eggs ever. This skillet worked better than the teflon coated pans I have used in the past, and the clean-up was a breeze. I was convinced to buy this set when I saw the high ratings the set received from Consumer Reports, and ALL the reviews I read gave this set an A. I"ll give it an A+!

This is a beautiful set of cookware and, I think, a great value...I paid $189.99 for 17 pieces, 15 of which are pots, pans & lids and 2 inserts..for pasta and for steaming. I like that there are 2 of the same size lid. You always get 1 lid that fits 2 items in the set and I would always use them at the same time and only be able to cover 1. No worries with this set--there is 1 lid for each. Also, I did a lot of price shopping before I picked this one and it's the only brand that calls it 17-piece and gives you all cookware. Every other set I saw that was over, say, 10 pieces-- the extra was knives or plastic utensils vs pots and pans. If it was 17 pieces, 7 to 9 of them were bowls, utensils, knives, etc. Rip offs for the prices they charged. And finally..the outside is nice and smooth, not ringed or otherwise textured...makes for nice cleanup and hopefully they'll stay nice looking longer than their predecessors. The ONLY thing I'm not thrilled with is that the lid handles do...

Cuisinart it's definately quality
The reason I decided to purchase these was simply because of the great customer service I had recieved from Cuisinart. I had purchased a frying pan and one of the 115V tines broke. I called Customer service and they sent me out a brand new pan no questions asked.These pans are great however they are NOT dishwasher safe. The outside finish will dull (Don't ask) but I recovered it with some olive oil. They wash quite quickly and nicely. Definately non stick. Great even heat.
