Realistic High Quality sound without compromise
I have owned a pair of La Scalas for over 30 years, and they are still going strong with no loss of sound quality. This is the only pair of speakers you will want or need in your lifetime.AmplifiersMcIntosh stackYamaha 2020 (30 years old and still outstanding)Pioneer Elite top of the line 5.1 receiverNew 7.1 Elite I will be hooking up over 2009 Christmas breakSourcesOriginally I used Tandberg and Nakamichi tape decks, Revox B77 reel to reel and a Thorens TD MKII top of the line turn table. With the advent of digitally recorded, digitally remastered CDs and universally good CD-DVD players I have moved exclusively to CDs and Radio for source.Pros* Incredibly efficient, minimizing or eliminating amplifier distortion.* Inaudible distortion at any volume up to and including ears bleeding.* Unsurpassed tonal quality which is most evident on digitally recorded classical music. One Word
I have also owned these speakers for over 30 years. Paid 1200 for the pair, brand new and unfinished. Still own them. I can easily describe these speakers in one word....incredible.When you hear them, you will want them. You will do like I did....found a way to get the money together to buy a pair. If I could afford them, I would build an audio room and have a pair of Klipschorns in the corners. Best speakers in the world, in my opinion.

I have had my (original series) La Scalas since the early 90's when they came to me used, and I most certainly concur with the other reviewers about their sound and build quality!Regarding the "nature" of Klipsch audio reproduction in general, when I worked in a medium-ish high-end stereo/video store in the late 80's to early 90's, I picked up a pair of Klipsch KG-1 "bookshelf speakers" (the originals, not the 1.5's). At the time, I worked also as a musician and recording engineer, and was looking for a high quality flat/neutral set of "near-field monitors" (used in the studio recording process to ensure that the recording is accurate and of high quality). The Klipsch rep who came to our store one day highly recommended the KG-1's for this purpose...
