Very entertaining WG-1
Check out my updating youtube videos. I am user: "PentaxWG1" The good the bad the ugly. The over all feel of this camera is strong and gripable. I love having metal and rubber on my electronics. I have dropped this camera. It was on my lap in the jeep and there was a hornet. I jumped out and it threw to the ground. No problems. The removable circle around the lens (macro stand) has threads. They are 46mm and can screw on filters and caps. I got a cap, uv filter, polorized filter, and flourecent filter on e-bay for $6. So other than the sony TX10, this is the only camera that can protect the lens. Can't wait to buy a telescopic lens. My camera has been underwater about 15 ft. I've seen no problems with leaking. It has two openeings; one for battery and sd card, and one for hd/av hook-up. Both seem strong and sturdy to me. Battery cover does move ever so slightly but seems fine. Ok, thats the construction. GREAT underwater/MACRO camera
I bought this product for an upcoming trip to Hawaii and wanted a camera with underwater capability. I also bought the Panasonic Lumix TS3 to compare and ended up returning it. I am happy with my choice to keep the Pentax.Here is what I liked:The durability and the rugged feel of this camera right away impressed me. I felt like I was holding a camera that wouldn't break if I dropped it or tossed it into my purse. It was exactly what I needed for an outdoor/adventure trip. I was most excited to try out the Macro capabilities of this camera. They were among the first shots I took. All I can say is that they were amazing. Far and away, the quality was better than anything I have seen for a Point and Shoot camera. I could see individual bits of pollen when shooting a flower or individual pores on my finger. never fails
I have used several adventure type cameras and most either don't feel comfortable in my hands as we are riding down the trails and i find them hard to hold onto but this camera feels and fits my hands very well. It also take great pictures even with all the bumping around on the trail. So far it has never failed me.

Good camera - but the additional items were disappointing
The camera works well and takes good photos. You have to be careful because there is no cover for the lense so it gets dirty very quickly and requires regular cleaning. The extra battery didn't fit the camera (wrong size) so it was useless and the case provided was too small for the camera so I had to purchase one separately. A much better cleaning kit can be purchased separately for very little money. The floating wrist strap is good when using it for underwater photography.

IT'S AN EXCELENT CAMARA, THIS WOULD BE MY THIRD, THE FIRST ONE A W10, WAS WITH ME FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS, IT WAS DAMAGED BECAUSE SOMEONE PUT IT IN THE WATER WITHOUT CLOSING IT PROPERLY, THIS WAS FIXED ON THE W80, WHICH I BOUGHT WITH A 25% DISCOUNT BECAUSE OF THE FIRST. Pentax Optio W90
Got this camera especially for out trip to Hawai'i, we wanted to take some pictures under water as we snorkeled, after reading several reviews decided on the Pentax. It took great pictures, only drawback that I see is the flash range, it is very hard to get real close to the fish, but 5-6 feet they turned out good. The included software does a great job on enhancing the underwater pictures. We had no problems with water intursion, and the battery lasted longer than we did each trip into the water. I would definately recommend playing with the focus settings, specifically the maual focus, finally figured it out after several tries at getting pictures of spiders. I was happy with the package from Bigvalue, had plenty of room on the memory card and the extra battery is a definate must.Under water or on land 95% of out pictures turned out great, about the same as the Kodak easy share we also use. Lacks a little quality in low light conditions, and more optical zoom would be nice,...

Great adventure camera
When I first started using the camera the colors appeared washed out compared to my previous Cannon digital camera. Once I switched from using the auto mode and instead used 'P' mode the picture quality improved immensely. I have used the camera for snorkeling in Maui, 4wheeling in the outdoors and as a general camera around town. The only issues is the lack of image stabilization, which you get in the Cannon digital waterproof camera, the shutter speed could be a bit faster and it's not the greatest at taking pictures at night. But the slimmer profile and solid container more then makes up for it.I did have issues with the stock digital battery in the heat down in New Orleans. It would cause the digital screen to fade to white, at first I thought it was a problem with the screen itself which is a known issue with the Pentax digital cameras.
