STUNNING. Period.
I'm happy to be the first to rate this wonderful LCD. I'll be short and to the point, and maybe come back and supplement this review after a few more weeks of use.Aesthetically, the TV is clean and elegant. Love the touch of red. Love the crystal base. Love the fact that it swivels. It's a beautiful piece of equipment, and looks a good bit more modern than the more curvilinear A model. I'm very happy I waited for this one.Set up was a snap. Took me about 2 minutes to connect the base. It took longer to remove the stickers. The manual is on a little USB drive that plugs in the side of the TV, but I haven't bothered with it yet.The picture is stunning, right out of the box. Absolutely beautiful. Only adjustment I made was to turn the brightness down slightly, as I have a very dark TV room. The on-screen graphics and menus are both intuitive and elegantly designed. I hate when the industrial design is carefully considered, and the on-screen... Top to learn more
Beautiful, Feature Rich and Future Proof
I returned the 40A630 that I bought last month because of one dead pixel, and I replaced it with this spanking new model (date first available at Amazon on March 9th). This LCD TV is really beautiful - the "Red Touch of Color" is not quite subtle but I'm sure you'll like it as much as I do (it will match whatever furniture you have). The picture quality of this model (100,000:1 contrast ratio) is quite stunning compared to the 40A630 (40,000:1) that I returned. This TV offers the newly introduced Internet@TV. Currently, only Samsung B series has this feature, other manufacturers will incorporate this feature in their future models. This feature is better than the first generation Infolink (RSS feed) that's offered by the A series. You can actually add all sorts of TV widgets, which in the next couple of months will include some of the big online content providers (NY Times, Netflix, eBay, Twitter, Google, etc). Currenly, only Yahoo widgets are available (news, weather,... Top to learn more

Excellent Picture Quality (Unless you need a matte screen)
**May 1, 2009 Updates at the bottom**May 8, 2009 Updates at the bottom**May 14, 2009 -- I've updated my final calibrationI just received my LN46B650 today so I may update this review in time. Feel free to comment with questions and I'll try to respond to them in later updates.UNBOXINGThe box for the LN46B650 comes is not too much larger than the TV dimensions itself. Sometimes you'll see a 32" TV come in a box that could easily fit one much larger. I wouldn't exactly call it environmentally friendly, but the box easily fit through doorways and into the elevator of my apartment building. The box is fitted with Styrofoam at the corners to keep the TV in its place and inflated plastic bags filling in all the empty space. There is the typical screen protective plastic in place and I found that the TV came in excellent condition with no noticeable shipping damage. I did not use Amazon.com's shipping company, the handling of other shippers may...

Unbelievable Picture Quality
I purchased this item last week 3-27-09 without the luxury of any reviews posted.. Just the picture I saw at B.B... I also purchased the Blue Ray player... The picture on this TV is Awesome... Better than I expected. Get the Blue Ray... I watched a movie on it the other night... Never knew what I was missing! This TV has all the bells & whistles as the 46A850 model with the upgrade to 100,000 : 1 contrast ratio. Sound is great. Picture is great... Easy to set up... Delivery from Amazon better than expected. Had people over to watch the final 4 NCAA last night... One gentleman kept walking up to the TV & asking his wife why his new SONY didn't look even close to this... Swivel stand is also Key to me... Red touch of color is not noticeable unless you look very close... Then you appreciate it! Hope this helps... Happy shopping

Samsung makes great TVs... 5 stars for this model!
There are lots of in-depth reviews of this TV on the web, so I won't go in to too much detail here. I will say that the picture quality is awesome on this model, and that I'm very happy with my purchase. The red touch of color isn't too obvious (I still wish Samsung would abandon the TOC though). The swivel base is nice, too.The "auto-motion plus" (AMP) feature is improved over the 2008 model by allowing you to fine-tune the settings more. AMP is the technology that fills in extra frames (120Hz) so video doesn't look so "jerky". Owners of the 2008 model sometimes had complaints that they could not adjust the AMP setting enough to their liking. The 2009 model allows greater customization."Game mode" helps eliminate the lag when playing games. Once I turned this mode on, there was no lag when playing "Rock Band" and other games on the PS3.I am using HDMI v1.3b cables that only cost a dollar from BargainCell. Images are awesome. Don't spend...

Best LCD for the Money
This LCD is the best of both size and quality. With the additional 300 off that amazon was offering a couple of weeks ago, it was a bargain for what you get. Samsung is top quality in my opinion right now. Here is the good:Great picture. 3 extra inches worth more to me than 240 hzGlass screen makes picture more vivid and handles glare with ease.Touch of color makes it look really nice hanging in my living room.Could be better:Sound is average at best. Most will hook it up to external speakers so it doesn't matter that muchRemote is decent but needs more quick buttons to control PIP and other tools that you have to navigate through a couple of menus to changeBad:Nothing. You will not be dissapointed with this bad boy! Top to learn more
I'm surprised...
I'm surprised that more people aren't buying this set, or at least reviewing it (which typically is indicative of sales). Really with this set there are only two things that may bother your run-of-the-mill average TV watcher, and that is 1. Glare, 2. Flashlighting/clouding (backlight shining through). On 1 I can honestly say the glare doesn't bother me at all. Some people may not be able to deal with it because they are picky and/or have a really bright room this TV is going into, but that is not an issue to me. Just personal opinion. I would never let that be a factor to me unless it truly bothered me, and it truly does not with this set.On 2 I can say that I did have some initial problems with clouding and it being visible. I used settings posted on Cnet for this TV. They are kind of dark, but you get used to it. This prevents clouding from being as noticeable, but some backlight will bleed through, and it's especially apparent on large TVs. How apparent is... Top to learn more

Samsung Is The Way to Go for LCDs
I now own three LCDs. Two of which are Samsung. I've always liked the fact that Samsung packs in a lot of features and quality for a reasonable price. For the past two years, I have been putting off replacing the TV in our family room, a 7 year old Sony 36XBR800, which is a mammoth of a set. However, our finally caved in for a number of reasons: (1) pricing on flat screens dropped, (2) wanted a television that supported HDMI, and (3) wanted a set that would help with the glare on the TV.The glare on the TV was, believe it or not, the tipping point. Our family room has lots of windows, and the blinds don't block out all the sun, so with the old set I would get a lot of glare in the middle of the day coming off the TV. It was bad enough where sometimes I would just give up trying to watch anything. I did some research and LCDs do the best job cutting down the glare because of the matte finish on the screen. Plasmas tend to have a glossy finish, which reflects more sunlight... Top to learn more

Stunning TV and good sound
About me: First HDTV, but I am an Electrical/Software Engineer so I have a high level of technical ability, with a low expectations. I have been micro analysing which TV to buy for far to long. I attended CES in 2009 and 2010, and have seen all of the new TV that are coming out (probably why I kept waiting so long). This is the perception from which this review was written.I received this TV yesterday and watched it for most of the evening. Very good picture! I was considering the LG55lh40 but after viewing the Samsung LN55B650 side by side with the LG at Best Buy my wife and I realized there was little competition. We had the tech at best buy let us mess with the settings for around half an hour (starting with the auto-calibration from LG) but just couldn't get it to look right compared with the Samsung. I was rather upset, as I have read numerous great reviews about the LG and it was a considerably cheaper price. Logging into Amazon I noticed the LN55C650 was on sale for... Top to learn more
Satisfied Customer
I have had the TV now for a full weekend of March Madness, and I have generated a few thoughts so far.First, the picture is phenomenal. It really stands up against almost anything out there at the moment. I chose the LCD tech over LED largely over price, I just couldn't justify the extra 1000 for what I felt was a marginal increases in performance. The options and interface are intuitive, and tweeking the picture and sound settings was easy. After I "tuned" the picture I watched some basketball and was very impressed by the 120hz engine and software. The picture is smooth, rich, and a delight to watch.Second, the connectivity is a fun addition. I have an instant uplink to netflix, blockbuster on demand, amazon on demand, and Vudu. I gave Vudu a try last night with a free trail rental of "Zombieland". I have a 12mb/s broadband connection, and it was enough to enjoy full HD without any hiccups. Really a cool feature.Third, I am less than impressed... Top to learn more

Samsung LN55C650 Review from LCD TV Buying Guide
The C650 series from Samsung contains some older upgrade technology features such as CFL backlighting, 3.4" depth, Touch of Color bezel, 120Hz Auto Motion plus and the ultra clear panel. This model falls in the lower to mid range of Samsung's LCD/LED lineup. We thoroughly enjoyed last years B650 series LCD so were happy to review the successor model. And as anticipated, we were very pleased with the results. We hope that Samsung will continue to offer/produce a value oriented CFL backlit LCD TV as their technology contained in these TVs offer exceptional value combined with excellent quality.Calibration: The 55C650 was very calibration friendly without going into the service menu. In fact, from the movie mode setting, there were only minor tweaks needed here and there to close in on D6500K. There is an ample array of calibration controls including white balance and noise reduction. The standard setting continues to have a major blue push. The Movie setting allows... Top to learn more

A Review for those of you who obsessivly research
So, if you're like me you research and research, obsess a bit, and then research some more before making a television purchase. So, I thought I would offer a few simple thoughts that might help. First this is an amazing television. The picture is simply amazing, the slim design is wonderful, and the remotes and features are very fun if not all that necessary. Here are some goodies to think about. As you read on, you'll see that Amazon has pulled the various prices out of my review. Sorry about that, but I'm guessing this review will last a while and that prices always change. Anyway, the general gist is still there.1. 120 LCD televisions (especially Samsung) are designed to give a 3D-ish effect. They do this through inserting extra film clips between the regular clips. This means that sports look AMAZING, but that movies look like you're watching stage theater. Truly, like it's live video. For some people this is amazing, for others it's completely... An XBR convert - but, one caution for Dish and Cable box users
This is an amazing set. For the past year I've been holding out for an XBR but recently the feature set in those sets isn't up to par with what it used to be. This TV has a nice balance of features (beyond just TV), a really nice picture and is very thin. The DLNA is pretty cool. Right out of the box it found my laptop on the network and I could browse pictures and music it had - presumably because Vista and Windows Media have DLNA and 'serve' up content to whoever is on the network. Even more shocking was that it saw my 4-year old Sony Vaio that came with its own media server capabilities. The TV locked up (had to unplug it) when trying to view pictures, but music and some videos played just fine. I've not installed the software that Samsung supplies with the set - so it should get even better. One word of CAUTION though. If you have a Dish receiver or Pioneer cable box, note that presently this set will likely interfere with your ability to make use of... Top to learn more

Great picture, poor sound, a lot of money for an imperfect product
I replaced a Vizio 42 inch LCD with this one. After 2 days of playing with it I can provide a few facts that may help the TV shopper with making a better decision.Power consumption: I was unable to find the power rating for this set before it was delivered. Neither the specs on Amazon.com, nor the user manual that I downloaded from the Samsung web site, nor their support staff were willing or able to give me this information. The response from Samsung support was, literally: "For the power supply and Power Consumption, refer to the label attached to the product."This made me a bit nervous at first. I measured the actual wattage today and it turns out that my concerns about unreasonable stand-by power consumption were unfounded. The stand-by power was not even detected by my simple wattmeter (i.e. it is close to or less than 1W, which is excellent). The operating power consumption varies in a wide range, depending on the brightness, or back-light setting. When... Top to learn more

Very Satisfied
Purchased the LN46C650 model 3 weeks ago ($1167 thru Amazon) and absolutely love it. I was not sure how much added value the internet TV would provide, but after having it for a few weeks I am very glad I went with this model over the non-internet models. I haven't tested every feature yet, so this review is based on taking the usual features for a spin.Delivery: White-glove service was fantastic (on-time, no damage), but then again it would be pretty hard to mess up walking the set 15 feet inside the doorway. Nonetheless, they did great.PROS:- Pandora rocks. This is by far my favorite internet feature to stream music through the TV. I don't have a big stereo system and FM reception is spotty, so this really was a welcome feature.- The sound is just fine. I know some say the Samsung sound isn't up to Sony, and that may be true, but how often are you blasting the volume past, say, 20? The room we have it set up in is relatively small (15x20), so it... Beautiful TV (first impressions)
I've only had the TV for a few hours, but I have only good things to say at this point. The image quality is awesome, the box was pristine, and setting it up was really easy. The delivery guy even helped me get it mounted to the stand, which I don't think he had to do. I like the menu system--it looks cool and is intuitive and well organized. There are a few things I was concerned about after reading reviews of other Samsung LCD TV's, but I haven't found any of them to be an issue:- The remote is not finicky. You can point it in any direction, even backwards, and it works perfectly.- While you would not mistake the sound from the TV as coming from a good stereo, I'm very happy with it. I've only turned it up to about 15 out of 100, and even that seems loud in a quiet house. If it scales linearly, I can't imagine ever needing to turn it up all the way.- Some people complained about a system Samsung uses to dynamically adjust the backlight to get... Top to learn more

Great TV
I've been using the TV for only a few days now, but it really is a great set. The picture is amazing and the black reproduction is really good. Internet widgets are extremely easy to use and were truely plug & play; no additional set up required. This set does include netflix and pandora, even though it is not listed above. One thing to note if you are purchasing this set is that the DVI audio input and audio output connectors are stero headphone connectors, not RCA red/white ones that are usually present. This led to some scrambling to find an appropriate converter when I was setting the TV up! Also, the screen is of the glossy variety. I personally am not too bothered by it, but when the screen is dark and the room is light, you can see reflections of the wall behind you. Again, not that big of a deal for me! Top to learn more
