Fantastic, best knife I own.
I can't really convey how wonderful this knife is. I had the Caly 3 with G10 grip but I misplaced it somewhere. I liked it so much I had to get another, this time trying out the CF.Pros:- Fully flat ground, great for slicing.- Fantastic ergonomics, sits in your hand like something else. Choil and Jimping allow you to really choke up for precise or hard work. Opens fast.- Lighter weight from CF and skeletonized liners (though still not as light as the fiber reinforced nylon, which I like on the Delicas)- Wire clip - low profile and discreet.- Looks gorgeous, I wore it with my tuxedo this weekend.- Steel is crazy hard like you wouldn't believe. Holds its edge forever.- Opens beer bottles- Wonderful blade shape, gentle belly.Cons:- Grip isn't as good as the G10 (nothing is), or even the FRN. It's just smooth, prettier but less functional. The ergonomics are good enough that I don't mind the difference.-...

Subtle elegance
I started collecting knives a year ago or so. Like many people I suppose, I started with some less expensive ones, some a little flashy, maybe some assisted openers etc, the lower to middle end of thedecent mass produced knife makers, various brands. Ended up with 20+ nice knives and in the process I learned a lot. I don't really use many or them, or occasionally I will carry one fora day or two, but they are mainly for fun, or just for the hunt of the next one. I like getting them out and enjoying the design and feel of every one I have purchased and kept.This CF Caly 3 is the best knife I have ever had. I have some other more expensive ones, but none I like better. I have been carrying it everyday since I got it, and plan on keeping itwith me until I lose it.... It is balanced, simple in its elegance and functionality, unobtrusive but serious in appearance and totally understated but excellent in every way. This is all the knife anyonecould need for EDC...

Great knife
If you want the best at a reasonable price, get this knife. Extremely sharp 12.5 degree edge, with a hard, laminated blade to make that edge last. And you get the extreme strength-to-weight ratio of carbon fiber in the handle, which is reinforced throughout with stainless steel.I've been happy with every Spyderco I've owned, but this is definitely the best.

My Favorite 3" Spyderco
Let me say that the Sage just blew me away. It was only the second Spyderco I owned and because of it I became an addict.I usually like my knives a little bigger, with blades between 3.5" and 4", and I was never a great fan of liner locks. Well, this little 3" Sage really changed my perspective.The grip you get is perfect, especially if you take advantage of the choil and "choke" the blade (i.e., if you keep your index finger on the choil on the blade rather than on the handle). The peel-ply carbon fiber scales are the best around, period. They are grippy while still smooth enough to clean, and they look terrific.Moving on to the lock, if I had to chose one liner lock as an example of how they should be made, this one would be it. The lock is incredibly smooth yet offers plenty of resistance to keep the blade safely closed in your pocket. And it is strong enough to keep a blade this size securely open.I am not a great fan of pocket clips, maybe because I...

Feel the quality
When you pick up the Sage, you can feel the quality dripping off of it. Everything about the knife is nice. It's really like a piece of 'pocket jewelry', everything locks up tight, the blade is razor sharp and the carbon fiber is finished nicely. It's not as smooth as CF on, say, auto parts. But, you want a little roughness in your surface to hold the knife securely. Highly recommended.

A great $200 Knife for a $100 bucks
I ordered mine from [...] for about [...]...similar price as you see here. I have gone through a lot of knives to determine which one was best for EDC in an office type environment. Basically, I wanted a three to three and a half inch blade, thin profile, and light weight. I found the Benchmade 530 and loved it. Then I came across the Spyderco Sage. This is one fine knife. S30V steel, gorgeous CF scales, and the blade was centered perfectly. The knife is super easy to open and close one handed...even for lefties. By far it is the best value I have found in a knife. I wouldn't pass this opportunity up.

top quality materials, simple construction
This is a great knife if you're looking for top-quality metals and elegantly simple construction. Thick titanium and good steel held together by three removable pillars. The back is open and the construction is flow-through so a quick rinse under the tap will clean out the dust and grime. No springs, no closed back, not much that can get gummed up or fail. One warning: the first "new" knife I received from Amazon was actually a used one, the little sealed internal pouch had been opened (and was in fact of a different material than the real one), the frame was scuffed, and the bushings felt gritty. But the exchange was painless and the second knife new and perfect.

The first Sage knife recognized knifemaker Michael Walker's creation of the LinerLock, which offered a ball-bearing detent method of keeping a folding knife closed. The Sage2 focuses on prime mover Chris Reeve's embellishment of the original Walker LinerLock, which he morphed into the Reeve Integral Lock (RIL). Fantastic Knife - A Great Value
Prior to buying this knife, I looked at A LOT of different designs, combing through the catalogues of Benchmade, Kershaw/Zero Tolerance, CRKT, SOG, Cold Steel and Spyderco. Based on the categories of blade dimensions, steel quality, handle shape/materials, opening and locking mechanism, price, and company reputation, I finally settled on the Spyderco Manix 2; and I'm totally satisfied with my choice. What struck me first about the knife was its sheer quality. I don't know why I was surprised, Spyderco pays great attention to detail, fit, and finish - It's the same story with my G10 Dragonfly. The metal-to-metal and metal-to-grip-scale fit on the Manix is just about flawless. The components fit so well, it's as if it was all one piece. The knife has a proper weight to it with great balance; it seems to be made to exacting tolerances with everything lining up the way it should, and the metal parts exhibiting the results of precise machining and finishing. Great Knife
The Spyderco Manix 2 is one tank of a knife from the handle to the blade and lets not forget the wonderful locking system. I also own the Spyderco Para military which is a very great knife also, but since buying the Manix 2 I rarely carry the Para military now. I say buy this knife the price is great for a American made knife plus the Spyderco Warranty which can't be beat also great steel 154 CM and the feel of the knife fits wonderful in hand.

Manix 2
I bought this knife as a replacement for a Case that I carried on my belt for over 25 years. I wanted something solid and built to last. The only reason I didn't buy another Case was I wanted something different. Spyderco hit a home run with the Manix 2! A very Solid well built knife. Good blade steel,Grip,and size. Lock up is very solid and secure. It is a little heavy for a pocket knife So I went in search of a belt sheath and a Buck 10pt omni folder sheath just works. It fits in the sheath one way only -tip down, blade forward-. A nice tight fit. You will need to remove the pocket clip for the sheath tho.Hope this helps B
